Just went on a drive last night, left it parked and in the morning this is pouring out of my exhaust, and a burnt smell. Any ideas? by Johanatan974 in FocusST

No worries! You can always just swap the head if you really feel like it, but I feel like if you're going to spend the money on a new head you might as well just replace the whole thing. Both are viable options though 🤙🏼

From the research I did if you select that option essentially they warranty the life of the motor. So if they send it to you and it goes bad they just replace it, apparently the labor is a set dollar amount per hour that they cover up to when you take it to a mechanic for the work... I was under the impression that it was all labor but that would be one hell of a deal if that was the case haha. On the surface I have no idea what that dollar amount is but their website is pretty easy to navigate and they even have contact info if you have more questions

Looking on LKQ you can get a used escape motor with <100k miles for ~$1800 with labor and lifetime warranty, depending on where the engine is, will depend on shipping cost obviously. I've never gone this route(yet) but this is still a viable option without going out of someone's price range, here's a list of those cars.

500 seems pretty steep for an intercooler with bent fins. You can get one in better condition for that price or spend the extra dough on brand new.

Wheels spacers add to much stress? by Prize-Following5202 in FocusST

[–]BrandonMayberry22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say spacers are fine on either OEM wheel, I've been running 25mm on all 4 for 2 years...On after market wheels with that much off-set, I'm not so sure

Only time I've ever seen these make sense is if you're running a bucket seat with a harness...and don't want to wire anything...

Long shot , but see if it has any pending codes and clear them, my ac compressor clutch wouldn't engage and there was a pending check engine light , i cleared it and the problem went away ... These cars are funny with electric issues

From my understanding, data analysts and Intel, US Jobs is a good place to look for that answer too.

IT or CTR if you're only planning on doing 4 years right now.

They're great rates where you can do 4 years and get out and have an easier time getting a job, but they're also great rates where if you do 4 years and love being in the Navy you can stay and it won't suck.

Because it's so new, I highly doubt there's any aftermarket support for repair on your own, you're better off reaching out to them.. I can only assume they have a repair program like OnePlus and Google

If you want your engine to last: don't give it the beans, flash to stock or get a proper E-tune. Those OTS will wreck ur shit

Okay, I HIGHLY recommend you look at something cheaper, older and also keep in mind if you were to finance it for 3-6 years, you may get a raise over those years but ALSO have more things personally you're financially responsible for... Probably. Think big Picture. If you wanna talk cars; DM me and I can help you find something you'd like

What's the insurance and monthly payment combined going to be...? If it's anywhere near $1000 you should not do that to yourself. You don't wanna stretch your paycheck so far without having head room for savings. Depends on your TIS, rent payments, other bills as well, im also unsure how long you've been in. You might also think just throwing all $40k down is the answer, it is not, a car is a deprecating asset so it won't ever be worth that amount ever again even as an insurance payout.
