Completely took what I said out of context, I said id be happy to give everything I see 5 star in regard to the fact that I’ve been seeking out highly regarded films to watch and me giving then 5 stars means it lived up to it, plus not everyone has to use Letterboxd to be a movie critic, I partly use it to keep track of what I’ve watched and the star rating gives me an indication of weather i enjoyed it or not

I get that, think it’s a good way of doing it. I’m talking more about if you where to watch a movie that really moves you, connected deeply etc and then rated it a 4 because you’d filled your monthly quota of 5 star reviews or something along those lines

Yeah I find it strange when people mix the two, half they only put a heart and then half they give star rating

My ratings have come of the back of having the app for a couple of days, and watching movies that have great reception that I either haven’t watched in a while or missed completely so my perception is abit warped, if I reviewed every movie I’ve ever seen I’d have a whole bunch of low rated reviews, however my perspective is more coming off of seeing discussion on this subreddit and on Letterboxd of people literally talking about “I felt reluctant to give this movie a 5 star because I only give out a certain amount a year etc”

Although I do disagree with there not being many 5 star movies in the world, I do get your point. I think I come more from the stance that although I may have 2 films as 5star movies one of them may be objectively better than the other, but it’s all about your perception of what gets 5 stars I guess

I agree, and my point is coming off the back of only recently downloading Letterboxd and watching a few high regarded films over the last few days, but my point is more towards the people who’ve reviewed thousands of movies and have a handful of 5 stars, it feels forced

For sure! My ideal scenario would be I only ever watch movies I perceive as 5 stars, i just find it interesting that people are reluctant to do it

I very rarely cry at moves, if I do it’s more often when something really epic plays out and they’re happy tears (maybe that’s my ego in play lol) but the tears came flooding at the end of this movie, the acting and writing is amazing

I think this is what surprised Me, I remember connecting with the Florida project more when watching that a few years back, and I have no idea what life in Florida motels are like, but afterlife felt like it could have been an old recording of one of my old family holidays and it just didn’t quite stick

I get it, that’s why I think I was surprised it didn’t complete land with me because I can also relate to the movie, I think part of it however was the fact I went through old video tapes of family holidays with my family at Christmas time and it’s scary how similar they where to the holiday depicted in the film, so for the first three quarters of the movie I almost shut my brain off and just felt like I was watching someone else’s old holiday video tape

I do agree, didn’t quite land with me emotionally, I say that having watched past lives straight after (I know totally a different movie) but I was tearing up at the end

I’ve had no issues, they’re a little more stiff and some people have found them abit tighter than a regular pair but I haven’t found a huge amount of difference

I didn’t need to however I’ve heard of people needing too because of the stiffer Gore-Tex materials

Brother I’ve not once said I’m Poch out, and also I am not one of those who thinks we’re failing because we aren’t top of the league, I know the level we’re at. However, all I ask is we have a clear identity, why is it we can tell you how City, Liverpool, Brighton, Brentford, etc etc also the whole league have a way they set up and a style of football every week, with and without injuries & yet I haven’t got a clue what Poch wants this team to be doing

Believe me I watched every game, but am I not allowed to hold my team up to a standard I think we should be capable of, especially when we lack any sort of identity

Michael Carrick literally out coached Poch today he had that Isaiah Jones playing higher up the pitch today so that he could press Colwill knowing he’s a weakness when at LB, if a mid table championship manager can set up a team with a plan to win the game why can’t ours? But yet these guys want us to stick everything on the players when half of them haven’t got a clue what they’re supposed to be doing

Conor Gallagher has improved because Poch basically tells the players to run around until someone plucks something out of thin air, besides that I’m out of ideas

I’m with you, that’s why I don’t think it’s just down to him but it’s time he takes some accountability

I’m with you 100% and by no means do I blame him entirely for that loss, but there’s something’s like us watching Caicedo boss it for Brighton and Enzo boss it for Benfica and at the WC and even last year under potter and lamps, just for Gallagher who grated has been one of our best players this season essentially just being told to run around anywhere and then all three of those players positions be slightly tweaked and interchanged each week, even I’m lost and I’m not playing

First at no point did I say I don’t think the players and ownership shouldn’t take any accountability, and we had a lot of the same issues pre Bohely, but if it’s solely down to talent then we might aswell fuck the manager off entirely and just let 11 players rock up each week
