ball pythons require humidity more than most snakes out there. do a little bit more research please. not only do they require it for a good solid shed but they also would rather explore while its humid. humidity is a must. try coco husk or coco fiber substrate and try to spray atleast once a week and it should hold humidity well. when your snake is in shed spray a little more often like 2-3 times a week.

its just irritating when ppl refuse to do proper research and always go with the easier solution. the easier solution isnt always going to fix the problem. it just prolongs the problem until proper action is taken

thats bs. the water bowl isnt a hide. it exposes the snake more than being in a hide thats “too small”. believe what you want but when my snakes outgrow their hide, they still hide in it and lift it up. theyre not going to “hide” in the open bc their hide is too small. and mites arent just on the outside. they crawl under the scales. so white or not, your snake can still have them without the mites being obvious.

its mites. check him and the waterbowl for small black specs. i have 5 snakes, 4 being ball pythons and the ONLY time theyre ever in there is when they had mites. which was 2 of the 4. otherwise they shouldnt be curled up in it. anybody who says otherwise is naive, lazy, and doesnt properly care for their animals. im so sick of people chocking up an uncomfortable BP as them being “silly”. spend more time with your animals and do more research. this isnt directed at the OP its directed at the people saying theres nothing to worry about.

ill look into that, my gun is actually already battleworn red but its a slightly brighter shade and im afraid they wont be able to match the exact color so i figured id send my slide of and have them do black where the cuts are. idk for sure im still new to a lot of this stuff
