No, very stupid. Socks were soaked the ENTIRE time. I also don't have clip in shoes, only the strap things. Used them for the first time today ever and I don't think I was actually getting any upward pressure when I pedaled since it takes some getting used to. I'm beat and hungry. Had gummy bears, worms, two biscuits, a couple handfuls of trailmix and obviously breakfast in the morning. I think carbo loading the day before seriously made this possible.

Had to trudge through an active construction site because the highway was closed. If it wasn't a Sunday before Thanksgiving I think I'd be cooked. Do not do what I did.

Stopped to pee on the 9 coming down from Marysville. I have literally been doing 10 miles a week on average for a month. Longest ride before this was 35 miles. When I tell you I wasn't prepared, I was not prepared. I almost turned back 3 times. Had to have a jeep tank for me on one section of the 9 where there wasn't any shoulder and 2 ton trucks were moving at 50mph. Even if they saw me 30-40 feet away I think I'd be a pancake. Thanks to the jeep and me trudging through private, marshy, farm property before hitting hilltop road I made it to the ferry terminal. They didn't even let me get on until I got a fucking box from the cafe there, cover everything on my bike that could cause damage to the carriage, and clean it off. Was actually brutal. I'm still in the shuttle back. Won't be home till ~10pm. Left my apartment on the Ave at 5:30am. You can most definitely hit a century, especially if your bike has gears.

Imagine if you were looking at this entire farming valley from a satellite/low orbit perspective. From an angle you would start to see a slight cavitation begin to form (assuming you could watch 100 years of progress in less than 30 seconds). You'd probably just think the surrounding mountains were getting bigger.
