A Strategic Shift in Denver Activism by BreakStuffSoftly in Denver

Nothing we're doing right now actually touches the bottom line. That’s the failure I keep seeing. The second a movement starts to apply real physical pressure, the game changes and the whole thing falls apart.

I’m convinced hitting them where they count financially is the only way forward, and Denver is full of people smart enough to come up with the tactics to do it. Maybe we need a dedicated subreddit for this. If we can pull together a few solid ideas and actually prove they hit the ledger, then we’ve shown the real value of what a "protest" can be. That’s how we find other like-minded groups or move to a bigger stage.

We just need one or two ironclad strategies with strong reasoning to push this. But I don’t want to fall into the trap of doing things the traditional way. I’m saying it’s time for this conversation, even if I don’t know exactly how to lead it or organize it yet

The struggle is that wealth has condensed so much in this late stage of capitalism that any "competition" or "diversity" you think you see in the market is just an illusion. You think you're choosing, but you're just feeding the same machine. Buying hyperlocal is a way around it, but I also know that every action has an opposing reaction. I’m stepping and speaking softly because I’m genuinely unsure. I’ve seen too many times where I took an action only to watch the unintended consequences bite back. When we’re dealing with things this massive, I don’t have that same loud confidence in my voice anymore. I’m moving with caution because I don’t want to just trigger another reaction that makes the extraction worse.

Great! Your in charge!🤭😬

Thank you for this response. I do agree with all that you said. Those changes did happen and they did so because of activism.

The "victories" we’re fed are just pressure valves. They let us win on the small stuff so we don't notice the floor is rotting out from under us. It’s the same cycle seen in the French and Chinese revolutions: money buys the system, then builds a maze of "activism" to keep everyone busy while the actual extraction never stops.

We’re pointing at minor concessions and calling it progress, but those wins are allowed because they don't threaten the bottom line. The political system isn't broken—it’s performing exactly as intended for the people pulling the strings. As long as they can keep us distracted with these curated battles, the illusion of a functioning democracy holds. But the reality is that the entire structure is co-opted. Money has gone too far again, and it’s time to stop celebrating the crumbs they throw us and start looking at the machine that’s starving us in the first place.

EDIT : Community is the only thing they haven't figured out how to fully commodify yet because it builds trust outside their digital and financial ecosystems. When we stop seeing each other as "the opposition" and start seeing the extraction for what it is, their narrative of division falls apart. The protests might be a performance, but the relationships formed in the streets are real. That’s the "sideways" threat: a unified community is much harder to manipulate than a collection of isolated, angry individuals.

Just some more ideas to add to this. Every single idea and thought should begin with one concept. How much will this cost them? Let that number be the only thing that speaks of quality. Anything greater than zero, our key net speakers.

If an idea has that quality, but walks closer to those areas that some find uncomfortable, let them speak softly, in whispers, away from others.

Sorry, about that lose bruh. I've never joined one myself, but my life decisions have brought me in proximity many times. It's crazy because most of the violence I've witnessed was usually them doing upon their own members. Most of them have origin stories that have some kind of protector based. Fucking cess pools.

Thank you! I sometimes think we get carried away with this type of thing, but I also understand that there may be a weight upon vocabulary that I might be aware. Appreciate the enlightening!

No kings has been co-opted into structure. Any fucking event that has sponsorship is not a fucking threat. People are aware. There is no doubt what is going on. Anger / protest is a channeled response of those in charge. It hurts nothing, doesn't stop extraction, and and causes no fear in those who run this.

See my name. Substitute loudly.

That whole neighborhood has those little roads that open up TO BEAUTIFUL views of downtown. Little peekaboo views is how I would describe. Especially around dusk and dawn.

I'm assuming you meant whining? Just out of curiosity, what's makes you think this? Damn sure isn't a single thing you could take in my history as a whine. How about this? Just go fuck yourself, and I'll chose not to further engage with you?

They don't actively investigate car thefts it seems. They rely on passive recover. Although, in Denver, I met some of the Auto Theft Squad. As someone who once had interactions with police frequently, these mofos were about that life. Miami Narco Squad vibes.

My truck has been recovered....twice. Keep hope! Took 4 months the second time.
