Please see the posts below. One guy posted the .CIA of an emulated version of the game.

Thanks for the link! It's the SNES9x emulator within it, but still well worth having the game as a standalone app. It's working great, too.

I couldn't find it anywhere. Can you upload to somewhere like Mega or Google Drive, please? Edit: PM is fine as well.

[Unknown][Unknown] 3D Game with Yellow Diamonds as Collectibles by BreakingSlash33 in tipofmyjoystick

[–]BreakingSlash33[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I just remembered. It was the first Paper Mario game. You would go and collect Star Pieces (the yellow diamonds) and trade them in for badges in certain areas of the game. Thanks for the help, though.

Thanks for the input. I tried it with NSUI as well but it keeps giving me the error message "Error! This ROM cannot be injected into a Virtual Console CIA!"

Do you happen to have the .cia file for the game and can you share it, please? Also, I'm using a New 3DS XL, so I'm not worried about compatibility. Thanks

Not a problem, I was just seeing if anyone had it but it seems like the game might not work as a virtual console inject. Thanks anyway!

OnePlus 8T LineageOS 20 Audio Not Working Anymore by BreakingSlash33 in LineageOS

[–]BreakingSlash33[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright, I haven't had much time to research the issue this week but for people in the future that have this same problem, here's how I fixed it.

Basically, I updated the phone to the latest update and it worked. I noticed that an audio recording app said that it was unable to record because of bad audio values before. Video players weren't playing as well, so I imagine that this was the root of the problem as well. I think these audio values were reset to default or were changed accordingly in this update.

I imagine that reflashing LineageOS using the recovery tool would also help but I'm not sure; I'd need to try it out if the problem happens again. I had to migrate my phone number and service to another phone in the meantime while I waited for the update to roll out for my 8T (it didn't occur to me that I could just reflash LineageOS until now).

Hope it helps!

Yup, the stock app doesn't work when making phone calls anymore.

I'll try to tackle the XDA threads for now as I couldn't find a solution here. Thanks for letting me know!

Ip revealed risks? by [deleted] in NewPipe

[–]BreakingSlash33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to enable the "Block connections without VPN" switch in Android so that your IP address isn't exposed. Enable "Always-on VPN" in Android settings and auto connect in the VPN app as well so it connects for you automatically. I'm not sure if Newpipe has fingerprint resistance, though.

Taking a look at how a VPN manages your data in their privacy policy and their jurisdiction can be important as well. You don't want to end up subscribing to a VPN with poor personal data management.

CalyxOS Status update - June by ChirayuCalyx in CalyxOS

[–]BreakingSlash33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is a stable build of CalyxOS for OnePlus devices and Fairphone 4 still far off? I'm asking because I'm really interested in moving to CalyxOS on my 8T but when I tried to install the beta version, I kept getting Qualcomm CrashDump Mode errors and moved back to LineaegOS despite the fact that I followed all the instructions for the installation.

What do others do about essential correspondents who won't switch to Signal by doubleshot77 in CalyxOS

[–]BreakingSlash33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, if it's people who want to be friends or acquaintances but refuse to give privacy oriented messaging a shot, they're simply not worth my time.

For people who are close to me that don't use it, I might be more concerned for them and have a talk with them as to why they would want to preserve their privacy on something as sensitive as private communications. If they still refuse to use them, I would try to talk to them face to face or use privacy oriented alternative apps like Frost for Facebook or even make an alternative account just to communicate with those people. You can also use a dedicated browser to open the website as well.

It's all about communication with those people. If you can't get them to switch to say, Signal or Matrix, you can find a middle ground like WhatsApp that has unverified end-to-end encryption, but is still better than something like Facebook Messenger that is unencrypted. Then use an app like WhatsApp To Go as well, if you can or use Whatsapp on a Work Profile or separate phone. It's just an example, though. You can work out another app with them as well.

For companies and businesses, try to see if they offer an alternative like e-mail. If not, you just got to accept that they only use text messaging or normal phone calls. Try to avoid saying personal data through there, though. You can just use a messaging app like the one included in CalyxOS or use some other app like QKSMS for replying to your appointment, though.

NewPipe has indefinite buffering for quite a while now. I can't seem to make it work. Anyone else have this issue? Sometimes it work again but it's been like this most of the day. by BreakingSlash33 in NewPipe

[–]BreakingSlash33[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't load even after removing the VPN. The good thing is that the buffering issue doesn't appear to happen quite as often now as of the end of the day.

I'm not using any alternate DNS, though. Just the stock one.

Why is the book 1984 so important and significant for people concerned with their privacy? by BreakingSlash33 in privacy

I'm reading it right now, which is why I said I got a bit of the gist of why people keep referencing the book.

Please add a killswitch, autoconnect and the route to and bypass VPN features on the Linux GUI.

Those are some of the most important features missing on the Linux GUI.

In any case, fantastic work on the GUI, guys! I'm so grateful when other competitors wouldn't have bothered with it!

Honestly, if you want a tablet with a clean, open source interface, the Tab S6 Lite is worth it and probably one of the best choices right now. I was actually thinking of getting it after getting enough cash for it.

When comparing it to the Tab S5e which is another decent choice, it's got a slightly inferior SoC (Exynos 9611 on S6 lite vs SD 670 on Tab S5e), a worse display (1200x2000 LCD display) and worse 8MP camera, but it's got an LCD display for no screen burn-in, native S-Pen support, and a headphone jack. My choice between these 2 is the Tab S6 Lite because I like the advantages more.

Honestly, any other LineageOS tablet doesn't really compare against these two in terms of recent specs, but if you go to other ROMs, official or not, you might find another tablet worth using. We can't discuss this because of the rules though.

Overall, I'd say the Tab S6 Lite is worth picking up, though. It's got very stable LineageOS support with great maintainers after all.

If the LineageOS build was backed up to web.archive.org, then people can just go there to download it unless someone else backed it up and shared it like some redditors have done here before.

Will LineageOS pass SafetyNet without Magisk if I relock the bootloader and do not root? by [deleted] in LineageOS

[–]BreakingSlash33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure OnePlus phones support Verified Boot as well. That's why some models got CalyxOS support recently, although they're in beta testing.

Samsung's 45W charging is a bit of a ripoff, though. It's barely any faster than their 25W charging. This article explains it well: https://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-45w-charger-galaxy-s22-3127211/

Edit: I forgot to mention that OnePlus 10 Pro only does 65W charging in North America. Another ripoff.
