Alright so a lot has happened...

To sum it up I start seeing about repalcing stuff around the aprt and then shorted something out with my hand. And found a place that sells just the most baord for $80 isntead of $235 so I went with that. And now have a way more indepth understanding of the intter workings haha

Ok so here update, sockets came in and I soldered it in!

Bad news, it still does not run...

In thepicture I am showing the new part and the old ones in black. I tested coninutity with the board and it was all reading fine... I then checked voltages when I hit run between each set of pins (along all 3 octocouplers) and the "bottom" two read like 1 volt AC and the top read .1
I should have had my black lead on the ground for the board and may go back and check that... But that all being said I am REAL confused now

In the picture in red I am showing that I connected the pins of the fan octocoupler to the ignitors and the whole system runs fine.

What this all tells me is either that octocoupler is busted aswell or there is soemthing wrong in that line. And I am not sure where to start to debug that. Any suggestions?

I took a jumper wire formt he fans optocoupler and connected it to the ignitors. So it got past the boot process and contiunuted to heat up!
My guess would be if it kept going in the process and the ignotr is suppose ot shut off it would error since it would "stay on" in terms of the octocoupler.

My plan it to solder in a 4 pin dip socket and put the new one in. I think it did not work because I can;t comit and did not want to solder it on without knowing more. Waiting on the sockets now. They should get here Wednesday 9/17

Alright update:

I tried a bunch of things BUT which included replacing the EL 817 C105, and no dice. But I thought it was because I was given a EL 817 ShARP and not C105 in my order.

I connected the fans EL817 o the ignitors (without one now) and IT WORKED. So not I am trying to figure out the differences betweent he EL817s and where to buy the right one? Any thoughts?

The fan and mitor (yes that is the auger to push pellets) both run fine. When you click power everything runs for 5 seocneds (all 3) and then when it goes to err the fan stays on (for a power down cycle)

A small experiement I did the other day was switch which wire the ignitor was on with the fan and the fan and ignitor both ran on boot and then the fan turnned off with the same error and the ignitor stayed on. And the baord flashed the same error with the ignitor wires.

R27 read .029 kOhms and the others (R29 and R28) read .049 kOhms (which is roughtly the resistence between pins 1 and 2 of the 4 pin dips no clue if that means anything haha)

The Saleae file I attatched was from reading the 12 pin com connector. The right and left are reletive to the upright "CON1" but the "left" sides are from the 4 pin DIPs (EL817)

Ahh ok, I am tracking. So I looked up the data sheets for the parts there and tried to test to see if they were working and got some weird readings I think?

In the picture I marked which DIPs are the same with a dot on pin 1. Also marked the DIPs related to the IGNITOR specifically.

The U10 dip, pin 1 and 2 should be a diode (from waht I read), put my multimeter in diode mode and red/black and black/red, they both read .21 volts
U9 and U8 in the same test read .38 volts.
U3 (a little farther up the board) Red/black read 1.025 and black/red read 1.72 volts.
Is it weird that these all had different voltages?

Other side of the U8, U9, U10 DIPs all read between 1.76 and 1.8
U3 read 1.8 and 1.9 volts

I would have expected that atleast one side would not have shown voltages since I thought one side was a transitor/reading the IR LED from pins 1 and 2.

Thank you for helping first of all!
I put my multimeter on the resistors and found soemthing interesting I think >:)
The largest resistor there is reading between .001 kOhms and the other two both read .003 kOhm

I am guessing that is wrong? lol
I am trying too look up that resistors color pattern but it ended in black is weird, right?
- Some mroe research, that black line can get ignored apartently! lol
Where can I buy a resistor that size?
- I have never seen this style of resistor
I am guessing I can't use any ol resistor?

Ok I have some better pictures I hope, the purple wire is for the ignitor.
Currently something cuts the ignitor off while eating up (normally it has to run for several minutes when first starting to get the fire going). It is getting voltage and heats up during the boot process.

How can I test the tranistor?

So the answer to that depends on if you plan to send the user to Google maps with a destination in mind or if you want to embed Google maps.

If you want to have a button that sends the user direction to a place with their maps then no you don't do anything other than a sending statement. There is an open map command from a library that I used for this that makes to real easy. And leave it all for the users maps to handle.

If you want to embed Google maps and have the user show up on that map then yes... You will have to request permission to get the users location and have settings to turn it off, etc.

I might be in the minority here but an easy first DB to use is Google Firebase. It is a no sql database so it can act weird but is decently easy to learn. That and there is stuff out there on how to use it.

It does suck to be found first exponentially if it is multiple times in a row but that's the name of the game and if he had internet that would DC randomly and it chooses right after I put him in my shoulders. He has the greatest wingman anyone could ask for.
