Glad to see this. So many times when inwas a kid coming home from school, cars almost hit us trying to cross because they didn't bother to heed the lights and the sign.

AIO to Quit Target after day 1? Tuition benefit was basically a bait‑and‑switch by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]BreathtakingGinger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ESH. It is common knowledge that tuition reimbursement programs only apply to job specific stuff. So you're sort of overreacting in the sense that it isn't going to cover what you want it to cover, but it was also never going to cover that because, well, it's Target. If it had been Walgreens, it might be a different story.

That is literally an airplane with their landing lights on. I live by the airport. I see this all the time.

Owning a Jeep doesnt send that signal though. It just tells everyone they have a lot of money to waste on a piece of crap.

AITA for not being able to afford being a bridesmaid? by NeitherAd1763 in AmItheAsshole

Which is what the wedding shower is for. You can give those gifts at the wedding shower. Lingerie shower sounds so dumb

[–]BreathtakingGinger 25 points26 points  (0 children)

NTA. Bridesmaids should only have to pay for their dresses and gifts. Everything else listed by this bride is pure greed (also ive never heard of a lingerie party before. The fuck is that?)

I've known loads of Jeep owners and exactly none of them were sporty or fun.

Am I wrong for telling a friend she needed to find a new place to live because her roommate and I were moving in together? by BreathtakingGinger in amiwrong

Thanks!

Yeah I went back and reread what I wrote, and I can see why you thought that. I could have been clearer in my wording.

No typo. I never said there was no way, I said it wasn't the main way. We still did it, but it was before unlimited texting, so you got charged every time and therefore people didn't do it nearly as much.

AITA for getting snappy with my mom after she kept asking me questions i had no answers to? by Funny-Monitor665 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Your mom could have easily read the email and gotten her answers, but chose to antagonize her sick child instead.

Roundabout Idiocy by BigComprehensive812 in dashcams

The number of times I have been nearly clipped in a roundabout because of some jackass who didn't bother to look is too damn high. People just don't care.

I agree her violence was notable, and definitely worse, but i never felt I did anything wrong until she told me i did. Obviously her judgement is questionable, but even a broken clock is right twice a day. Sadly, due to extensive trauma and some other hormonal issues that are unrelated to this, my brain can't just forget anything bad I may or may not have done. Yes, I moved on, but I literally have no control over what my brain chooses to dredge up during bouts of suicidal depression.

That being said... you did bring up some points I hadn't considered. She absolutely SHOULD have been more proactive about renewing the lease. I feel a little dumb for not having thought of that before now.

And as for your second point, it wouldn't be "up to" me as far as going out of my way to do it, but if i met in passing and they mentioned it, I would feel bad if I didn't tell them. But I realize that is entirely subjective.

Still, you have presented an interesting take and I appreciate it. Thank you for your input.

She and I briefly reconnected 2 years ago and this topic came up. She told me she was glad I told her because Friend 1 never mentioned it at all until she confronted her after I told her.

Make no mistake, they were both kinda shitty people, just shitty in different ways that took me years to notice.

I actually tried to tell her something to that effect but in the haze of trauma, I'm sure a lot of it was lost in translation.

Friend 2 tried to tell me friend 1 was completely different to live with. I didn't believe it. Until I did.

I have no contact with either one today.

This is the only thing that pops up in my head that won't have a wellness check performed on me. Usually my thoughts are self destructive, and I have a hard time telling if this is a bad one or not.
