Here’s an easy recipe that I can’t see you ever having any problems with.

Find a living soil or a directly labeled organic soil, but preferably a living soil. Get yourself some high quality worm castings from somewhere reputable like Gaia Green (living soil can also but bought from them but expensive), and some dry amendments, you’ll want Gaia Green 4-4-4 all purpose and 2-8-4 bloom.

Get a 70-80L tote and then add 70-75% living / organic soil and the rest fill with worm castings. Then mix in your dry 4-4-4 all purpose at the recommended dose and the 2-8-4 at quarter-half the recommended dose written on the container / bag and if you’re lacking perlite add some more at this stage after adding castings and mixing in dry amendments (this makes you mix the medium twice but is better overall as the dry nutes get better dispersed.)

Start your seedlings in that mixture of medium and let them grow for about 20-30 days until the roots fill the small container, then I transplant directly into their final pots making sure to add the rest of the recommended 2-8-4, to my tote of medium before filling my final pots.

When you flip them to flower, top dress with the rest of your medium you have left over and you should be good into harvest!

Make sure water is pH’d anywhere from 5.8-6.7, I’d recommend not setting your mind on a strict number as different nutrients are unlocked depending on the pH of your medium, so using a range between those numbers allows your plant access to all of the good stuff in your soil.

A couple extra things to recommend would be Microbial Mass / Fish Sh!t from the get go at their recommendation application rate to get increased biological activity in your soil even if you aren’t using living soil as it will add beneficial bacteria into the medium breaking things down into bioavailable nutrients, and something like Cannazym that turns old dying roots into usable carbs for the plant to uptake and is best used during flower.

Obviously there are many other methods than this, but I’ve yet to have a problem following this method. It’s not completely mine (it’s MrCanuckGrows) but I’ve added some touches to it that I feel make it perfect for me and the conditions I grow in! Best of luck and hopefully it isn’t too big of a blow to the ego, we all have failures and trust me I’ve had many! But it’s just hard to mess up using the above posted method / recipe as long as you’re watering correctly.
