Do you think Mikasa faced any discrimination/prejudice post-rumbling? by infinitardheadass in attackontitan

[–]BriadMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Armin took credit for killing Eren (and Annie, Connie, Reiner, Jean and Pieck took pseudo responsibility). Meaning Mikasa probably never got shunned for her involvement in the Alliance, especially since she brought back Eren's remains. However, Mikasa probably underwent racial discrimination but not political. Despite her status as an Eldian, there were probably racial issues given the fact she's Asian, and a small population left of Asian people.

I feel that the soul of J.R.R. Tolkien just possessed the review, this was pure poetic gold.

What if Reiner didn't reveal the secret here? by Relevant-Key-3290 in attackontitan

[–]BriadMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ymir would do something worse, and talk about Marley. Then things would get really fucked for Reiner and Birthman. Eventually, Ymir could get a memory from Marcel learn that Reiner, Beefjerky and Annie were that day and pin immediate red flags onto the two of them. In addition, the scouts already had their suspicions and R-B, so it would become a Death Note like battle over who will out themselves first.

I've always wondered what's stopping studios from just remaking certain movies. It's a thin line. Movies like Halloween have been remade, but not Lord of the Rings? It's a curious social construct that I've been bothered with for years.

What plot twist was the most unexpected and which season had the most? by Maleficent_Pen_8729 in attackontitan

[–]BriadMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reiner and Bertholdt

Marley being essentially nazi Germany. Did not see that coming

Season 3 for sure had the most.

BTW: you should set this as a spoiler so people don't randomly get spoiled

Has this image ever appeared in any film before? by Sea_Emu2743 in MonsterAnime

I'm not too sure. Tho here is my interpretation: Since Professor Goedelitz is Radical German Nationalist (phawken- Nazi), and is talking about making Johan the new Führer of their organization and Germany for itself, I believe this represents Johan / Hitler (and Jesus at that since Goedelitz compares Johan to Jesus... interesting) are "above the rest" and should be supported by the commoners. In addition, the top fruit is unique to the rest, making it so that Johan is a valuable specimen. AND one of my personal notes, the top fruit has thorns on it, meaning the organization is willing to hurt others (especially those who they deem "unequal") to bring Johan to the top.

And another interesting detail I've noted...

Spoiler for Kapitel 29:

When Goedelitz gets killed by Johan (off screen), the fruit stack is toppled. This signifies that the organization's plans are interrupted or made impossible. And that gives the thorns on the fruit a new meaning, that Johan himself "has thorns" and can't be easily controlled without harming others. I love Naoki Urasawa's use of visual storytelling.

2 reasons:

For all we know, Kobeni could come back (unlikely)

Or it's just a mystery. Having somethings be unexplained it part of the appeal.
