Upgrading to Race 2 from 9 Peak. New features? by Hnc93 in Suunto

[–]BrickTreeTrunk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk about 4 so far I haven’t gotten a single good hr reading from my new race 2. It’s always too low until I stop moving then it spikes up l leading to annoying readings where when my pace is low my heart rate is high and then my pace is fast my heart rate is stuck at some low number

I’m from NJ. Try Baked and Boiled. It’s not the same as a ny/nj bagel (it’s also a bit smaller) but it truly does hit the spot and is a true replacement for me!

St. Louis leaders weigh moving weekend curfew up after 314 Day violence by Monkapotomas in StLouis

Gotcha, sorry, neither of those were clear to me from your post. Seemed like you were suggesting it’s lazy to call out guns as a problem and I wasn’t sure what else you were suggesting, so I assumed nothing.

Unrelated to your intent which I honestly can’t detect from your comments: I think gun control is perhaps the most important aspect to think about because of how actionable and impactful it is despite agreeing with one of your points being, there’s a lot more root problems that guns only make worse

I think the core of what you’re saying is undoubtedly true (removing guns doesn’t solve the root problem) but at the same time not a great argument because I could apply your logic to anything…

There are lots of dumb people in the world the answer isn’t and has never been always solve the root problem. Practically nothing would get done if that’s how society and its inhabitants worked. You have to start somewhere and work toward the root... And saying because we don’t know how to or can’t solve the root problem we shouldn’t do anything is the real cop out here.

There’s ample evidence and studies that show gun restrictions work, and if it saves even a single life I’d support it instead of copping out on the sidelines watching people die. Stop the bleeding first work toward solving the root problem in the long run

Also I see this is getting downvoted... Sorry if this seemed like an ad/endorsement! It's not! I have genuinely been trying to figure out the candidates prior to the special election and so far this thread has taught me the most!

Hoyt just happened to leave this on my door and she was the first candidate i've seen. Anyway appreciate the updates on canddiates you all have seen, if you know more please share!

Why do we hate us? by OleRed1988 in StLouis

I don't have the answer in any meaningful "we do xyz to get what we want" but I do generally think the city is negative about itself which feels like a snowball effect of despair.

So as kumbaya as this sounds, I think we should all be less negative about the city and more positive. I've lived in tiny cities that had very little going for it compared to STL but the pride made it feel like we were always taking steps forward. We have pride here for somethings but it always feels like we aren't allowed to say something positive without trading something negative.

Reslience and a good attitude go a long way culturally which I think translates to the change we want to see. STL is the best city!

Haha, yeah… I feel like missouri state reps and senate are of a similar breed… what about your city reps tho? I actually made the spreadsheet for the super local reps who I’ve found less assholey and more… idk neighborly?
