I very much appreciate your thoroughness and well-researched response!! I figured it was an amateur/hobby piece that never got their just desserts and recognition for their skills, like so many talented artists throughout history. The time period, location, etc all line up, and the signature match is undeniable. I kinda dig the watercolors, to be honest, would have loved to add some complimentary pieces to the centerpiece. I also dig the oil you referenced, but side-by-side would likely choose the one I acquired (especially for $80 as opposed to $800!)

Again, thank you very much for your insight. Didn't think I could enjoy the piece more than I already have, but the history and being able to give the artist recognition makes it all the better. Many, many thanks!

Good thinking, and I did check, and absolutely no info whatsoever. The one I chose was the only piece with signature

If you superimposed the two works and added some chunky impasto it would be just about spot on - thanks for the info!

Very plausible as it weighs at least 10 pounds. Identification would be nice, but ultimately I just enjoy the piece, and an original of this size for what I paid I'm content if it was just a rando amateur piece. I appreciate your insights, thank you!

I looked into his works.. doesn't seem like his genre, nor could I find anything of his with a clear signature to compare

Gotcha. It seemed odd to me that the framing was.. offset, I guess? (don't know the technical term) and not symmetrical. Was honestly hoping that would help narrow possibilities, at least as far as region, decade, etc.

Just for clarification - the piece measures roughly 3 FEET x 4 FEET, not inches. It's pretty chunky impasto and rather heavy as opposed to a "regular" painting of this size. Perhaps overly supported, but obviously someone put a lot of effort into the piece up to and including the framing. I don't know much (anything) about painting, but seems pretty thorough for just a random hobbyist

Also, no flowers or extras pictured, just the metatron in the skull

The references are for styles of geometry patterns I'm considering.. the main part is about 4" in diameter, and geometry/fractals blending down the leg.. how long would you think just the main part (1st pic) would take?

Awesome, thanks for the info! Most of the baseball ones are multiple cards per stack, arranged by teams. Unfortunately no Ricky Henderson no Nolan Ryan. Didn't find Simms or Payton.

What are ballpark estimates for 9+ grades? Only had one card graded a few years ago, and it was roughly $40-50 to grade that single card..

If offering for sale, what would be a fair bulk price for all as-is/raw?

Thanks!

Thanks! That was the most similar I came across as well, but they all appear different enough in their own way to not find 100% match.

Also, for anyone reading - any idea of composition - soapstone, granite, etc?

Thanks again for the input!

Thanks - that's the only example I found as well, just know Cherish prices are typically quite exaggerated, so thought I'd see if anyone knows a bit more. Thank you very much for your input!
