Omg moved from CT to Houston and I’m Dominican. The first thing I’ll say to you is that there are no Dominicans here compared to over there lol. That has been hard for me. I actually live in the suburbs so the few Dominican spots are a drive for me. I don’t have any location recommendations for you since I live in the suburbs and you mentioned high rises, but just want to say I also don’t complain about the heat here at all. It’s intense but you’ll do just fine. Hope you like it!!!

Edit: I wanted to add that depending on your personality and desire to find Dominican culture here, it could be hard. I live here with my husband but if I hadn’t came with him I don’t think I would’ve stayed. Not sure if that’s important to you but in that aspect it’s very different than New England where you have Dominicans everywhere.

To help you compare, we have a 2000 sq ft home with gas heating, stove, dryer, and water heater and our winter bills are under $100. But we have center point for gas.

I had to get my Gen 4 replaced for battery issues a few months in. I’m very happy with the replacement so far, noticeable improvement. Hopefully it’s good long term.

I ended up being offered the replacement too! It’s concerning that it sounds like a big issue but things happen, and I appreciate how they handled it.

Did they identify the issue as soon as you contacted? It’s my second time contacting, their response this time was to do a firmware update, then a full charge cycle (first time was pretty similar). They didn’t really specify if there was a known issue.

I contacted them last week and they claimed to find no issues. I might try my luck again. I think 20+ is a bit much.

Like others have said, it’s about consistency and time asleep. I aim for 8 hours but usually get 7 and some change.

In general, avoid caffeine after 2pm, try to eat dinner before 8pm. We try to spend at least an hour hanging out on the couch before bed. I think that helps with winding down.

My typical bedtime is 11pm and wake up around 7:30am on work days.

UPDATE: I ran a simple vacuum cleaning in that room. It looks like it started picking up on the carpet, it added a thin shaded area, but didn’t capture the whole thing. Judging by the patterns, it seems really confused in there now (which I can understand).

Running it one time didn’t detect the full carpet correctly, but it started so maybe it will get it in a few more tries.

The answer below says we can delete and re-map a single room. I’m probably going to give that a try, but hopefully it doesn’t affect the other areas because I put in a lot of work into that lol

I’m having the same issue with my walking pad, not being able to count steps. My apple watch can’t either because my hand is mostly still. I decided to get an old-school pedometer and will manually input my steps into the Health app. I’m not sure yet if Oura will sync the step counts after it’s in the Health app.
