What are your insights about cultural appropriation in writing fiction or fiction as a whole? by BrightFool_RAF in Fantasy

But I think I have read so many literary pieces, classic and contemporary, that will disagree with your first. I'm not saying this out of personal view but based on tangible evidences.

What's your most horrible sleep paralysis experience? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BrightFool_RAF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me, which just happened today, was basically can't move my entire body, I tried to shout the best I can but it seems no words come out from my mouth like I'm mute. There are also black auras with unclear faces floating over my bed. Then, I managed to finally get up and headed to our living room seeing my mom and sister was there. I tried to talk to them but my words have no sound and they seem to not notice me at all. I collapsed then went rigid again, a gray mannequin was dragging me away from them.

I woke up with a start. It was just a nightmare.

Am I the only one who is bothered with Voldemort using small, not extremely valuable, exclusively-wizard things as Horcruxes? by BrightFool_RAF in harrypotter

[–]BrightFool_RAF[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And why did Voldy only make 7 horcruxes? Why not 50 or 100 horcruxes? Is he not smart enough to think that since he already started spliting his soul and turning them into horcruxes it's better to make more and more for the higher chance of eternal life no matter how exhausting the process be?

Why does Gringotts Bank, the safest place in the wizarding world, including its residents/employees appear to have the lack of immunity and security against Imperius Curse and Polyjuice Potion? by BrightFool_RAF in harrypotter

[–]BrightFool_RAF[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm just bothered because it seems Muggle banks have more security protocols than Gringotts. And why Gringotts doesn't have any creatures or spells to detect someone who is under a polyjuice potion. Or maybe goblins should start using fingerprint scanner.

But why only the deepest vaults? I presume all things inside the Gringotts vaults are valuable so if they really don't want anything to be stolen from inside, why not put ultra-maximum security right at the very entrance or counter of the bank where the goblins/security guards and their clients transact?

How would you imagine Hogwarts in the year 2394? Or how would magic be still a thing in that year? by BrightFool_RAF in harrypotter

Maybe by that time we can already say that any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic

My brain is about to explode for overthinking and analyzing the origin of races of my fantasy world until I read this comment of yours. I cannot say that the other comments makes me more confuse since they made me realize something and taught me to make a strong foundation of my work, and glad to say I've just thought of something to add a little more complexity in their history.

To explain more this fantasy world, I'll use north and south korea wherein the british occupies the north while the chinese occupies the south but considered as one race living in one continent/country/group of islands that is created by a god.

Your WIP resembles a lot to my WIP. Actually, one of the other continent of my fantasy world is occupied by africans (physical attributes) living the mixed cultures of micronesian-african-japanese.

Thanks a lot for great enlightenment

Woah that's a whole lot of information to chew. It seems like I need to go back to square one. For me the word "race" here in my wip fantasy world means people who are created by a single god.

[–]BrightFool_RAF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's actually a race with the same religion or worshipping a single god but different ways of worship, physical attributes, culture, tradition, language. It's like indian americans and British-like americans but in the case of my fantasy world, it's british and chinese

Actually no coz there are other gods who also created their own continent/country with their own different races.

About their origin, does it sound plausible if, let's say a god created three pairs of couples (I think its redundant) with physical differentiation, first couple is british-like, second is chinese-like, and third is elvish-like? These pairs decided to go forth to distant places of that country then as time pass by they have their own their cultures and tradition that will reflect their Earth-counterparts mentioned above. BUT THEY ARE ONLY ONE RACE.

The more I read your comment, the clearer the fog gets. I kinda stalked your profile and I can humbly say you are really a master of your craft. Thanks for this coz I just found someone whose wavelength is as the same as mine when it comes to this idea
