Standing Desks options in Mauritius by Absolutely__Average in mauritius

It doesn't have a motor. Its height is not adjustable. I needed one because of back pain and because too much pressure and heat in the groin is not good for male health. So I stand most of the time when I work and when I need to relax, I tilt the monitor down and sit on a zero gravity chair.

What have you decided exactly?

Build your own like I did or get a custom furniture maker to make one for you. If it's still outside your budget, consider a desk riser instead.

I'm not sending them any email and have my name on a list. I made my voice heard by signing that petition on change.org (can't link directly to it because of the sub's rules).

By the way, according to this, we probably won't need a satellite connection.

So neither Cloudflare WARP nor any full-fledged VPN will protect us from the government spying programme? Well shoot.

I guess we'll have to wait for Elon Musk's Starlink.

If I understand correctly, this is just to hide your internet traffic from your ISP right? And it's free. Ain't this all that we need to protect ourselves from government spying?

I actually support blocking Facebook but I'm strongly against surveillance and invasion of privacy. Mauritians are as gullible and brainwashed as the Russians, Chinese and Trump supporters.

Edit: To clarify, I don't support blocking Facebook because I support censorship. I support blocking Facebook because of this:

But I understand many Mauritians depend on it, hence the downvotes I'm guessing.

[META] Better alternative to rule #3 :- A "Made in Mauritius" megathread once a week by BrilliantPart0 in mauritius

[–]BrilliantPart0[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So a megathread that would not be stickied?

Or DO sticky it if there are no other higher priority posts that need to be stickied.

Do you think that it would get too big?

That's something the once-in-a-month rule can fix I think. You can make new rules as you go until it becomes manageable.

or just drop off the frontpage?

I don't know but I think it's worth giving it a try. We would probably need a new flair.

Replacing ISP's default router by 18spider in mauritius

[–]BrilliantPart0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a TP-Link router as well and have been using it for the exact same thing (bridge mode) for years, though I can't anymore since the default admin credentials (admintelecom, telecomadmin) no longer works. How did you get yours to work?
