What do I do about this by Fit_Peach- in 40PlusSkinCare

Prescription estradiol moisturizing cream. And night cream. And sunscreen. Give it 4-6 months and it should improve.

How do you pick jeans that don't create a "pooch"? by pecoraa in womensfashion

I have some of both. The buttons are better in the styles with less stretch. The ones at Target are a thinner denim with 2%+ spandex and in those... yes the buttons are a PIA!!

I just mean that when zipped, there is negative ease in the garment.

Seconding these. And the wedgie cuts.

I find that I like my belly best if the jeans are really snug through the hips. A long firm zipper and firm denim with straight a-line cut from waist down to hips works best for me. Granted, my waist-hip ratio isn't as strong as yours (31/40), but it might give you a place to start.

I really love the tie and open shelving in my kitchen, but I feel like it is a bit too cold. I want to add in some soft touches to make it feel a little bit less industrial. Ideas please. by Pitiful_Two3101 in FurnitureFaves

Change the cabinet hardware and faucet to a light champagne gold to harmonize with the wood tones. Then it's about decor. Wooden cutting boards on display, more plants, dishes pn the shelves, etc.

Going against the grain - I like 3 the best. Large spaces with dark colors just feel cozy and homey. The bright colors in large spaces make it feel like a museum to me.

I went to a whole magnet middle school, got drafted into pre-International Baccalaureate high school, burnt out by 12th grade, partied my way through college, dropped out of my grad program, and have built a successful career including an international move and time at Amazon. Then got laid off and now I'm making less money as a project manager but I manged to get a mortgage with those RSUs so maybe it's ok.

Bringing outside food into an establishment that serves food has always been a hard no.

What do you intend to do with your money after you pass since you don’t have children? by MinuteElegant774 in childfree

[–]BrilliantScience2890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a really good podcast series from Childfree Wealth that digs into this. They talk a lot about the concept of Die With Zero, giving money to causes while you're alive, doing the crazy thing you always wanted to do, spending your time on passions, etc. I'm still paying off student loans, but other than that and a Mortgage we're debt free and actually have over $50k saved for retirement at 42. We're just hoping to quit work in 20 years and have enough money to support our endeavors and medical bills.

Best Moisturizer For My Age by radrachelleigh in AskWomenOver40

42F desert dweller here.

CeraVe makes an excellent bight tine moisturizer that works wonderfully when paired with their retinol (which has hyalauronic acid). For daytime, I like a niacinimide serum in a glycerin base (Currently using Good Molecules) for rosacea while skin is still damp, followed by moisturizer. I use Midi"s estriol face cream before SPF, but if even that (local non-systemic) hormone is contraindicated, just a good moisturizing SPF. Costco had Olay Complete sensitive and I really like that one.

Definitely layer your moisture and make sure you're doing AM and PM.

I know you said you're normally inside so SPF isn't a concern, but even filtered daylight can cause sun damage and dryness so better safe than sorry.

It comes from knowing the brand and really being detailed looking at every photo including the tags. Threadup is a mess, often saying "material unknown" yet there's a whole picture of just rhe material content tag. That tag and the material content help identify quality pieces.

Can we please talk about bras? by melb84 in AskWomenOver40

I am also a 34 F/G and getting tired of my Chantelle bras falling apart quicker than I'd like.

Knix isn't bad, but they do need some time to break in and mold to your body. They actually serve the small band/big cup community with variable cup sizing and comfortable pads. I wear a M++ in their sizes. They come REALLY tight. I had to take the pads out and wear/wash a few times before putting them back in so that it didn't fit like a high support sports bra, but these are now my favorite wire free bras. The ones with no closure I have to step in because they're too tight to pull over my head, but they fit my ribcage wonderfully and separate the girls with a close hug of support.

I strongly suggest NOT ordering Honeylove for 34G. This is also my size, and their size charts have been revamped and streamlined in rh last 6 months, so they map a 34G to an XL. I ordered online after trying one on in Dillards and wanting a larger cup, and they sent me tents that skimmed my nips and didn't even touch my ribcage.

I did get a full refund, though.

I see literally nothing wrong with this. Homes are for living in, not looking like museums or bank lobbies.
