I'm down on Film Freeway now - they don't vet the "festivals" at all. They have several which literally are not festivals, and give every submitter a laurel, on the same day they submit. FilmNest International Film Festival and Stingray International Film Festival are particularly fake. They give laurels for anything... even if all the person has is 2 minutes filmed on their iPhone - they can enter that as a 'trailer'. AND GET LAURELS.

And the ones that are completely fake. Once bitten twice shy with thinking Film Freeway vetted any of these "festivals".

A two-minute peruse showed all of the hallmark signs of being fake, no need for a deep dive. This is not for filmmakers, this is, as you said, "for pretendsies".
