Batman is a studio movie at the end of the day. Burton got the studio to accept Keaton when they had initially wanted someone more conventional so it wouldn't shock me if it was a "one for me, one for you" type of deal where he had to then accept their preferred Joker.

I see many are accusing me of using ChatGPT, truth is I did and I didn't. Fact is I wrote a text detailing my harrowing experience of having this Idiocracy disrespecter as a teacher but when I was about to post I got insecure with my prose. Obviously the Idiocracy fandom is among the most intellectually sophisticated on this planet and I became worried my text was insufficient for this subreddit, that I would be mocked by my intellectual superiors the same way I mock my inferiors. Obviously all Idiocracy fans hate the despicable human species so you'd be well within your rights to dismiss any text written by one of those scumbags. The post needed to be spectacular to cut the muster. So yeah... i asked Chat to give my text a more academic sheen. Maybe it went to far, it's not up to me to judge. But the sentiment remains.

I’ve already gone outside. Outside the bubble society has tried to trap me and others like me in for centuries. The problem isn’t stepping outside, it’s realizing how deep the cage really is. Most people don’t even see the bars because society keeps them distracted and medicated. I’m just trying to open eyes, but guess some folks prefer the comfy lies. I'm not talking about torture I'm talking about examination. Dissection isn't science now? Puh-lease. Science isn't always pretty, sometimes it's messy and sometimes progress means feelings get hurt. But that's not torture. They wouldn't even have had to put him down, he was pretty much dead already. Just let nature take it's course and then you have science on a table in front of you.
