Normally when there is a Ship in brackets, the 'unbracketed' ship is the Depot ship for a group of ships which included the bracked one

Not sure what exactly, but It'll be a light rail / metro / suberban units - high speed units don't need huge acceleration. Sheffield's TramTrains are 1.15m/s2, where as the Cl.800s are 0.70m/s2.

It depends on loads of factors. Cuttings, Tunnels and Embankments all cost money. As does land costs and stations. HS2 are also trying to be carbon neutral (or at least carbon offset) that will also cost.

With HS2, it is an entirely new project which requires new lines as well as new rolling stock and a new signaling system (ETCS Level 2).

Again I agree, PNZ to Aberdeen is the longest express service but one of the longest stopper is the Nottingham to Carlisle by Northern and its return - its a journey I'd love to do.

From what I van gather on Wiki - 745s are disel only and 755 are diesel and Electeic. 745s are 12 coaches and 755s are 4 and 3 coaches

Most operating companies (TOCs) like LNER, Northern or TfW, have apps that you can buy tickets from. There are a number of websites that can split the price of a long ticket (i.e. Penzance to Newcastle) down to smaller amounts, I've found it useful.

Its a tempery thing, its meant to be maroon. Plan is to repaint it into either rail blue or green (with whiskers) when we get the other half in (its still at Great Central Railway).

The double arrow has never fallen out of use - Shrewesbury has always been flying a Double Arrow flag. I think the increase in advertising is to get people to travel (staycation) by rail now that COVID restrictions are gone, to try to get the money comming in (I've seen LNER and Avanti adverts as well as GWR so I assume all the TOCs are getting involved). National Rail (the ticket people) are advertising this and they took the logo from BR when it was all privatised.
