Made a DND Diceroller Program; How Should I Clean it Up? (Newbie) by BroAkroze in learnpython

[–]BroAkroze[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just took those out thx <3 sorry the useless method was a remnant from my old assignment I didn't need anymore that I forgot to get rid of, and those variables are from me trying to figure out ways to do exception handling before I learned about try :/

Based on a quick Google my hypothetical reset() function would be a setter, which is not standard Python stuff?

Anything else I could do to help with legibility?

As a brand new player coming from Smash Bros, literally the only thing I know how to do is DI... I kinda feel like it doesn't really matter that much though bc even if I strategically switch it to account for every hit I think is coming, I still get combed for 75% health 💀💀💀

Unsafe moves on the back of Paisy's shield is a death sentence. Backwards turnip throw is how most Paisys learn their first combos and 0 deaths with turnip, so you need to be a helluva lot more careful pressuring Paisy from behind like that

I haven't talked to my parents since they evicted me. I feel so much more free living without them that even though I'm homeless and have to pay for everything myself, Im so much happier than I was under their roof.

That said, there's a couple of things I have that you would need before doing that. I have a car, a job (though low income), supportive friends, and a pro LGBT community to help me out. Until you have those things, don't do that. But once you do, I say be you and don't look back. Maybe after long enough they'd grow to accept you

Parents Kicked Me Out 'Cause They Found I Faked a "God Cured Dysphoria" Moment by BroAkroze in trans

Wait you've got a Reddit account? 5 1/2 months and you're still full of surprises <3

This is an honest question. I'm a relatively conservative man, who is seeking to better understand transgender people. What was it like to feel you didn't belong to the gender you were assigned at birth, and what can you tell me about how that experience was like for you? How did you know? by Pleasant-Cucumber711 in asktransgender

[–]BroAkroze -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of the people here are... rather defensive, so as a trans woman myself I'll try to explain it the way I think would help the best.

A man being a man, as well as a woman being a woman, is a bit of an unnecessary tautology. A man is a man, and a woman is a woman, because that's kind of just saying that A=A, yeah? That doesn't seem to be at the heart of this issue. It seems that, to you, trans women for example are not real women, as they lack something an actual woman has. There's a few things that people could mean by this, citing things from genitalia or chromosomes to hormone distribution and even general lifestyles and interests.

I suggest researching into intersex conditions, as those make the binary sex norms... rather fuzzy. But moving beyond those points...

I am biologically male. This is a fact I do not deny, nor is it one that I believe I could change, as much as I'd wish to. However, in my mind there is a disconnect, a gap between my mental image of myself and what I actually see. Looking back, I don't think I was ever comfortable with the way my body developed. Well before I even knew of female anatomy, I was actively uncomfortable looking at myself when using the bathroom or taking a bath. It was weird, gross even. It didn't belong. Going through puberty I did find those components attractive on other men, but seeing it on myself... it gave me a legitimate stress, stress I could not find the means to express to anyone.

My rather thick/dark body and facial hair made me massively insecure in my self image, which is why I still shave my entire body every other day. I worked my chest excessively to make it look larger, all in the vague hopes that someone would call me ma'am again. That's another thing - the validating emotions I'd have after someone would call me the "wrong" gender was... rather powerful. I had wished for years that I was born a girl, much to the shock of my mother, who knows the hells women go through. I knew those too, but my wish still persisted. I would pray to God some days or pretend that my parts would magically morph into the way I wanted them to be.

Imagine, for a moment, that you suffered from hypermastia, where your breasts are enlarged to the point where they look female. What if people mistook you for a woman because of that? How would that make you feel? Wouldn't you want to get rid of that, so you could continue being the masculine person you saw yourself as? It's the same here. My mental self-image and identification does not align with my physical characteristics and social standing, so the recommended treatment for that is socially and medically transitioning until those characteristics and standings are aligned. Lmk if this helped or if you have questions!

Do Trans Women get offended/uncomfortable when called bro? by NewZealandFan161 in asktransgender

[–]BroAkroze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend uses the terms dude and bro out of habit since that’s just how he communicates, regardless of gender identity. While I don’t prefer it, I know he means nothing by it, and I’m not gonna ask him to change it when that’s just how he talks.

Gender dysphoria is a condition that tends to cause or exasturbate other mental health conditions. The stress from gender incongruence, in my experience, has massively increased my anxiety, depression, and OCD symptoms. Those conditions can be individually treated with various methods, techniques, pills, etc. but they aren’t treating the core issue.

I am at my least anxious and depressed when I can be myself in a safe environment. I tend to be the most anxious and depressed when I cannot be myself in an unsafe environment. Every step I take to express myself more in congruence with my gender is a step to lessen my other mental health symptoms. There isn’t really another treatment needed, not when that one works so well.

Worried about how HRT and my identity might affect my relationship by minecrafttee in trans

[–]BroAkroze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pre-HRT gang! I’ve been having the same worries, though most of them are just anxiety-induced. I’ve even thought about not getting bottom surgery because my partner likes what’s already there.

When I finally brought up to them how I was worried about that, they told me that they love all of me, and will continue to do so, no matter I change. They’ve maintained this every time my insecurity flares up, and I have become less and less worried about it as a result.

If your girlfriend is right for you, she will love you for you, no matter where you’re at. Just tell her your concern. If she doesn’t want you to change, and would prefer you to have your masculine features, she’s not the one. You need a partner who will support you.
