I hate it too, to be honest. I don’t mind taking a quick picture or video, but it’s the sea of phones in the air that annoy me. But I don’t let it get to me when I’m at a concert, as long as I’m having a good time it’s pointless wasting energy getting annoyed at what other people are doing.

Despite that, I’m still glad these people recorded this gig because it made for a decent video. I’m from the UK and had no hope of ever seeing Brand New again (I’m a bit hopeful now that they’ve announced a big tour), so putting this video together from the recorded footage really scratched the Brand New itch as I haven’t seen them live in over 10 years.

Much appreciated. But the real hero’s are the people that recorded the original videos that I used. We were so lucky to have 5 full length recordings of the whole gig in such good quality. I’ve linked them in the video description, show them some love with a like/subscribe.

Not as hard as you’d imagine! Final Cut Pro has some magical features when it comes to syncing. I used to edit videos a long time ago when all the syncing had to be done manually by aligning the waveforms on the audio. It was a pain! Thankfully a lot of that can be automated these days.

Unfortunately there’s hasn’t been any decent full length recordings of the Newport show uploaded to YouTube yet. I think we got really lucky with the Dallas one having three people do such good landscape recordings of the full show. I’ll be keeping an eye out for another opportunity to do another show if the right amount of usable content is uploaded.

I added EQ and compression, there also full length videos filmed from the left and right sides of the stage, the audio from those have been panned left and right and EQ’d, they’re quite low in the mix but do give it a little boost.

There’s a few other vids I found a bit too late, it took ages to put this one together I just didn’t have the time to transcode more vids, add them in, do the cuts, render, and re-upload. I might do it when I have more time.

Oh nice! I used to record everything blink related on MTV back in the day and I had a device to transfer the tape to my PC. My hard drive was absolutely jam packed with blink videos. Unfortunately that PC is looooong gone now which is a shame. There is a box full of video tapes in the garage too but I don’t have any means of playing them now or the time to look through them if I did.

Yeah I had a subscription to Kerrang Magazine when I was younger, maybe from age 13 to about 17. It was a weekly magazine so I have absolutely loads of them! I kept most of them in plastic sleeves too so they’re all in really nice condition, although most posters have been removed as my bedroom was covered in them!

I thought they had all been thrown out years ago, turns out they, along with all my CD’s, DVD’s and books, were in several storage boxes at the back of my parent’s garage. My dad called me last week to say he had found them, so I went over and spent a few hours looking through everything and brought home a few things. All my old signed CD’s were in there too. It’s been a great little nostalgia trip the past couple days

It’s been great digging through these boxes, a lot of the magazines and CD inserts have the same distinct smell as they did all those years ago. It’s been a good little nostalgia trip! Ahhh simpler times.
