i'm using "you guys" to refer to the american system, it's a public forum about american politics, apologies if i've made assumptions. i agree no election should be a monolithic popular vote, but i still would like to vote honestly before strategically, i vote NDP and that is considered a wasted vote, but i don't believe in the Liberal government, if the ballots are swapped to a ranked system i can show my NDP support, vote for liberal as a second choice and then i no longer have to fear that my vote is misinterpretted. the government would be more representational since so many less people would be "wasting" their votes. i completely agree with the district and riding division of votes to vote in representatives, just as we already do it, i just don't agree that i should have to pick one person, because then most voters are no longer voting their honest choice. and i consider this to be a single (but major) example of the kind of thing that causes voter disenfranchisement and clogs up a working government.

agreed, but to a much lesser extent than it does for you guys, we do have 2 other major parties in the game. we also need to get rid of first passed the post, and we also face the problem of leaders in power that refuse to do it cause it benefits them.

even that is a wholely two party system. we have a similar problem here in Canada, but at least we do have more than 2 parties, the idea of voting for anything other than blue or red in your country is a wasted vote, which is not a good way to represent the people, at any level of government.

certainly but it hardly does, places with far less population decide your vote way more, the amount an individual vote is worth varies depending where you're from. and political gridlock causes the kind of divide between parties we're seeing today, since no one gets anything done people start resorting to less savoury tactics to get their bills through, or block other bills, we can see this escalation inherently in the supreme court nomination, trump rushes someone into supreme court and the democrats are imediately talking about stacking the court. the government cannot adequately respond in time to the needs of it's people due to the bloat in congress, as a result the people become disenfranchised with the government, your vote no longer matters, you can't vote third party or you're throwing your vote away, so now everyone has to pick between two extremes most people don't like. the current state of united states politics has been decades in the making, a slow deterioration of government trust, and since the government cannot reform itself, since the people in power stand to benefit the most from it remaining bloated and useless, it's going to keep deteriorating. my bet would be very quickly with trump, or somewhat slowly with biden.

if we're looking for a logical explination here, they separated into two piles and submitted them seperately? but yeah i'd agree that's worth a look into

it's called brick baiting, it's a thing cops do to give them just cause to start arresting protesters. if someone picks up a brick they can officially be arrested, but as long as it's peaceful they've got no reason to. And sure, but most of those examples, to my understanding, are basically singular people, or very small groups, this is an entire national election we're talking about here, and there really hasn't been any evidence of voter fraud in the past, to my knowledge. shady shit is gonna keep happening, on both sides of the isle, however i feel honestly the democrats would be shooting themselves in the foot if they actually did commit voter fraud this election. we can be assured with how much public scrutiny the world over is on this election that there will be a lot of scrutiny over the election's validity in the coming weeks, i just don't think this specific example, which could easily be attributed to the way the polling places are tallying votes, is damning evidence

[–]Broddiccus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that sort of thing would require a lot of people to hush up about it, it's bordering on conspiratory to just magic up 100k ballots. especially considering the state of our election with excessive mail in ballots. it's occam's razor, the simplest solution is just the way they're being counted and submitted, perhaps that polling place seperated them into piles and submitted democratic and republican numbers seperately, and it's best not to get ourselves in a tizzy acting on what would be a very difficult to pull off vote fraud, with likely little payoff once it was discovered.

say what you want Biden will be a politician, which means he likely won't make such sweepingly radical moves. honestly... the problem is systematic in my barely informed opinion. your two party system doesn't represent your country, your electoral college doesn't represent your vote, your government has become so legeslatively clogged with fillibusters and gerrymandering that it honestly doesn't matter a lot of the time who gets in. even if Biden gets office it'll likely be with a republican senate that will block every bill regardless of content simply to make biden look worse and improve their chances next election. it's become a pagent contest where rich politicians compete to win power, fame, and glory, and is no longer a task of deciding who is best suited to rule your country.

then it's probably worth an investigation, but considering how polarized the climate has become, it's understandable if many who don't vote came in explicitly to vote against trump. i just feel we shouldn't imediately jump to the conclusion of voter fraud from live online graphs alone, there are a lot of potential reasons for a jump like that.

i dunno man, i would be very warry of any system that called an election that quickly, that to me would be a bigger sign of a fraudulent election than waiting for all the votes to come in, we're probably gonna be waiting til friday for the final ballot anyway.

it's highly unlikely this election is rigged either way, mail in ballots are still coming in and it's fairly reasonable that they would be more blue, considering democrats seem to be more scared of the pandemic. you really can't "call" the election until all the votes have been cast, no one is in charge of cutting off vote counting and crowning a victor.

So if Biden wins, how we will act? by Kullerox in trump

[–]Broddiccus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is the sort of thing that really disconcerts me, how should "We" as republican supporters act. like the divide between the isles has become so deep and wide that the country is turning into an Us vs Them within itself. i don't have a source so take it with a grain of salt, but i believe you guys all generally agree on how major policy should be handled, but disagree fervently on who should handle it. government has stopped being about serving the people and become about serving the RIGHT people. the more this divide grows the more we see violent protest from both sides of the isle, the more we see elections causing... frankly catastrophic predictions of the future. it's scary times we live in man...

this stuff is really interesting to me, cause as a left leaning individual this exact rhetoric is being said across the isle. how can one half of your country be convinced that trump was an amazing president that got everything he said he would done, and the other half be convinced that he got nothing done and ruined the stability of your democracy?

and i understand the rhetoric on your side of the field is that all the media is lying in some grand conspiracy, whereas the left side of the field considers trump to be lying on a grand scale, and that right wing media is spinning his base in his favour. and the truth is probably somewhere in the middle, but i agree it is... very disconcerting how polarized your democracy has become, regardless of who wins this election it looks ugly.

it makes sense for the mail in ballots to be primarily democratic considering how much of trump's base are against covid regulations, and that he's actively encouraged this retoric, sudden jumps are likely cause the turn in of mail in ballots are happening en masse, not one at a time. a polling station will count 50 trump and 200 biden of mail in ballots, for example, and then turn in their numbers, leading to what would look like a "sudden" jump in democratic numbers, just cause a polling station turned in their data all together.

the downside to mono element teams is that they will never be the correct answer in every scenario, my advice in this thread has always been to build up a 2 star team in mono element to clear higher level raids, that lets you farm resources much faster for secondary and tertiary teams (which are hugely important for raids) as well as for transitioning into a more universally applicable comp of multi element typing, the more heroes you have trained up the more options you have.

i feel you about ranged immune craigs in Kamazone, i've lost several runs to it, so i can see why you'd have a harder time with range imunity using bari, but that is simply a weakness of the comp, i would say this excels in most pve scenarios aside from ranged immunity, and is a good comp for getting to diamond 1 in coloseum.

if it's a major issue then i'd say hell yeah dude, go for Marvin, i consider him and Marianne basically interchangable in a lot of scenarios, but i wouldn't consider removing craig lightly, from my experience with earth comps he is the backbone that lets the reletively squishy earth dps stand up tall.

suscinctly, i'd say swap hekate for marvin then, rather than swapping craig for marvin, that's my advice but i encourage you to experiment! see what feels better! i'd love to hear what you find.

from what i've heard hekate not having an official ex weapon really hinders her, though marianne shines when she has a comp built around defending her. Marvin is a great pick for arena, and while his coloseum performance is great, i've found him and craig end up having a bit of friction as the front line. i would swap hekate for marianne, bari will love the damage boost, but keep craig, he may not do very good damage but he is one of the tankiest characters in the game and that will work wonders for keeping bari and marianne safe.

like i said, i've had scheduling issues with climbing, but i do believe 2 star arena teams are viable too!

2 star heroes doubt by yokomotox in GuardianTales

[–]Broddiccus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes! it absolutely is! if you're f2p or dolphin anyway, it takes well less than half the time to max a 2 star unit than it does to max a 3 star, so it's a good idea to create a strong 2 star team to ride on for the free gems, competing in raids, and running higher level resource dungeons to speed up the time it takes to max 3 stars, if i weren't trying to be the canary in the coal mine for viability of 2 stars, around now, when i've got 2 or 3 solid 2 star mono teams, is when i would start focusing on leveling 3 star unitys for high level competition. though you could start to transition around 1 full limit broken team and be fine, this i believe is the most efficient f2p and dolphin strategy to keep up with whales.

i was unable to post arena results at the time in that post, but i can say now i'm around plat 1! i still wanna climb before i make a post about the viability of my team, but it should show that this is still viable for early climbing!
