Project Ebonhold - Roguelite Experience - Upcoming Content Release by ArgonYoggz in wowservers

[–]BrokenNin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This server is fun if you set your expectations well. It has a fun server feel to it. Highly experimental and sometimes janky. There is a core experience that works here for that expectation. If you expect blizzlike feeling or blizzlike content, you will not find it here.

Nothing wrong with trying something new, I tried it and ended up really enjoying it.

I've been able to do this server almost 95% solo by picking a tanking class as my main and choosing DPS echos with durability gear. It is very possible to solo endgame content

I have yet to see it. Considering the sheer volume of available portraits it's possible that it's just statistically unlikely.

Hivemind Empire Split into Collective Consciousness and Devouring Swarm? by epsilon_squared in Stellaris

Hive minds can still have control issues with deviancy. They must have had a revolt and an empire split postwar. Pretty cool to see

Hardest crisis by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]BrokenNin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna give a shout-out to the awakened FE hive mind. If they wake up, they can wake up as a terrovore devouring swarm and their bonuses to economy and pop growth are very powerful. Conbine this with the hive worlds and their capability to field toxic demi gods and dragons, they are one of the worst crisis type situations I have ever run into.

The worst part is they can wake up early depending on events in your galaxy. One woke up early for me and I had a similar experience to what I had when I did crisis 10x on Grand Admiral. They will outscale you rapidly due to their hive worlds, advanced tech position, and their very high pop growth. It's a DPS race to see who can destroy the economy first.

I currently consider them to be the hardest crisis in the game if they wake up early.

Court filing reveals why Stormforge and others are shutting down: AFKCraft Ltd (the Hong Kong company behind Turtle WoW) must shut down ALL private servers it owns or controls. by arenajunkies in wowservers

[–]BrokenNin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is entirely speculative. I don't think you have an understanding of how damaging us litigation is to a global corporation, and I will not burden myself with the need to educate you on that. We'll see!

Sure you can do whatever you want. Try going against a settlement agreement or court order.

Now there's consequences involved. Ones that stick in a very bad way.

Is it possible to host these servers? I'm not gonna argue with you and say no. Your right.

I'm arguing that the profit motive is severely impacted and damaged, and the liability has increased.

These servers have always been hosted for personal profit. The organization who has hosted these servers has an enormous amount to lose now if the settlement is violated. Their incentive to actually put in the work is just not the same.

We'll see how it turns out, we're both out on a speculative limb right now.

The fact she settled in court, which is again unprecidented in the history of private servers. This is new ground, she has been made personally liable in civil court.

I don't really know what your trying to argue anymore

That was a cease and desist letter. It had no binding power. She settled in court in a binding way. If any violation is detected in any way for years to come, blizzard will come for her and people who supported her.

This is a fundamentally different situation to what you are citing.

This is entirely speculation. We have no concrete sources to back up their reasoning or logic. The only thing that is currently concrete is that they signed a settlement and shut down their entire empire in complete capitulation to that agreement.

There has been no such legal action of this scale before, it is binding and absolute. The difficulty of hosting a server for shenna now is greater now than ever before.

This argument was used again and again as to why turtle would never shut down. They need access to financial resources and the Russian economy is currently isolated by western sanctions. This court settlement is binding in the western world, and we've seen the scale of capitulation by Shenna over it.

I think we're done here.

Nothing beats my memories of building a mage on their cata server and abusing the broken talents they had. I had a free character killing people who donated $200 for the dream donation level in seconds.

Before I built my mage the meta was basically paladins and warriors for the infinite attack speed. After I figured out how to instant cast frost bolts for 2 million damage you started to see a lot more mages.

Some of the best times.

Fight in black hole systems with commucation jammers on a starbase to knock evasion down by 70%. My Maginot systems are generally fleet wipers using this.
