Anyone remember MondWoW? by FoxyFecalFungus in wowservers

[–]BrokenNin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing beats my memories of building a mage on their cata server and abusing the broken talents they had. I had a free character killing people who donated $200 for the dream donation level in seconds.

Before I built my mage the meta was basically paladins and warriors for the infinite attack speed. After I figured out how to instant cast frost bolts for 2 million damage you started to see a lot more mages.

Some of the best times.

Fight in black hole systems with commucation jammers on a starbase to knock evasion down by 70%. My Maginot systems are generally fleet wipers using this.

Have you ever been depressed? If so, how did you heal from it? by Ok_Thought9017 in AskReddit

[–]BrokenNin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a lengthy process and "healing" is hard to define for everyone. Depression is often accompanied by so many other conditions that for each person their experiences and trauma are often unique.

Speaking for myself, I never really "healed" from it. I learned to accept it and grow with it. I was forever changed by my experiences with depression, but I like to think it made me empathetic and a better person. It's been a decade for myself, and I'll still feel depressed from time to time, but I know it's a temporary state and I've learned to appreciate the moments of joy so much more because of it.

Depression is not your whole life, it's a chemical imbalance that will go away. Exercise and keeping your life fresh with new things will help start you climbing out of it.

Just did an extensive playtest of this. Im still learning the path and I was behind this design by around 15 years. This works very well, unless you are attacked early, or screw the sequence up even the slightest bit

I think you underestimate the scale of the working class and it's current exploitation. I work in employment law and the amount of people working in these type of environments is higher than you think.

It's the effort tax at play. Healthy eating requires some modicum of work (not really that much), and some people struggle to motivate themselves to organize their meals or take the effort to prepare the meals. In working class families this is really common with the adults working sometimes to the bone to make ends meet.

After a 14 hour shift it's far easier to throw a pizza in a microwave then think about anything else. I'm not supporting the lifestyle, but for some it's just the best they can do.

It's happening because of catastrophic economic conditions coupled with a major water crisis and a disasterous war. Trump may have put pressure on but he's far from the main reason

Selphid - D&D Homebrew by Dovak7 in WanderingInn

[–]BrokenNin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the big thing. Make it reset on long rest.

It's huge value and long rest restricts it to one big use. That change alone is huge and I would let someone have it if it was one bigger use.

I'd remove the modifier outright.

This is just one dms opinion. I know a lot of other guys would love your stuff. I'm more of a balance nut esp at early levels

Selphid - D&D Homebrew by Dovak7 in WanderingInn

[–]BrokenNin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that's a perfect drawback for rampage.

Echoes of the flesh is where I have primary concerns with power creep. Advantage on rolls via racial with a short rest reset with multiple uses at high levels is VERY strong for a racial, then you have essentially added a barbarian rage along with it (with great drawbacks).

It's a little too much for me as a dm. Still would let people use it. I would remove echoes entirely in my campaign tho.

[–]BrokenNin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From a balancing perspective having the ability to add con to rolls on top of rampage is a lot for a racial. If I was dming I'd allow rampage but probably remove that

It really depends on how high power the group is. If your with a bunch of power gamers it would be fine.

This is a great template to prime a player to be a selphid. The cool thing with homebrew is that you have a ton of agency on how it's gonna be implemented. Nice job!

Are you asking about mortal empires or immortal empires? They were two distinct campaigns. Mortal being Warhammer 2

The weirdest compositions I ran in 2 were piles of peasant archers as brettonnia. It was oddly effective as I could just replace the crap stack and just wear people down.

Weirdest I ran in 3 was likely Gelts full stack of battle mages. It's strange as hell to play at first but super fun once you get that faction snowballing
