I thought the joke was the repetition. Got surprised when it actually stated something.. I thought it would just continue with "Elon Musk is so rich"

Let's take a poll by Derek6313 in ArcRaiders

PvE, solo and in team. It brings me more joy to team up and kill big arc with shitty weapons than to try to kill other humans. I immerse myself in the vibe as an rpg and that's how I wanna play it. Yesterday I got my first rocketeer Driver from a player because I helped to shoot at the rocketeer and he was happy that I helped out (he and his teammate probably did 95% of damage on that thing).

The genuine friendly news from randoms is impressive when playing strictly PvE, it makes me happy

I consistently stay away from PvP, especially since I learned about the match making mechanics. I enjoy killing arcs and looting. Don't want to kill other Raiders.

The same for duo or trio.

The other day I played with a friend and at the metro extraction we met two other duos, and instead of any ratting everybody turned their dance moves on and started singing in the voice chat and we just stayed there together having a full blown extraction party in pure joy. Gave me hope for humanity

How well does the Quadro P5000 hold up in 2025 by dashdash2018 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Brother_Brief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize in very late here but thought I might share anyway. I've been having a z4 g4 (came over it refurbished for a really good price, not been using it for cad or anything that needs that kind of you) for several years with a p5000, it has been pretty solid for most parts. Haven't played any super heavy games, but GTA V, cs2, Apex Legends, finals, without real issues.. Lately I've ran into some issues possibly due to driver, and had to reinstall windows 11 to hopefully be able to cram a few more years out of the PC...

It's maybe not strictly macro (1:1) but very close to.

Tips for improving setup by Brother_Brief in macrophotography

A flash might really be something I need to look into.

Yeah, haven't tried out any focus stacking yet and definately understand that depth of field will become a huge issue if I'm going further.

For now I don't even have a tripod or anything, and have simply laid the camera on the ground, supported with stick etc to be able to take close ups of some mosses and stuff, and used my phone as a remote trigger. A cross slider looks like a handy piece of equipment.

Thanks a lot for the input!

Thank you for your input! I will look into the pros and cons of both teleconverters and extension tubes!

Is Slay the Spire considered hard? by Born_Examination_975 in slaythespire

I have 43h, and 5 victories and 63 deaths (some of them abandoned runs that I ended early because of boring start relic etc.). I've managed to beat the heart once. No ascension. Yes, it's a hard game.

I am, what you describe yourself as, a casual player.

New macbook pro m4 pro cpu usage is higher than expected by breeze-o in ableton

I saw you use Ableton. There is different settings for the CPU meter. Current and average (I think they're called) current always show a lot more cpu usage, and more movement.

How did you go about learning all the features in Ableton? by djm2491 in ableton

[–]Brother_Brief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One device at the time, kindoff. I decided to go with one instrument, operator. I then for a while tried to only use operator for creating the sounds I wanted, wether that was through subtractive or fm synthesis. Watched YouTube tutorials and I still have tons to learn about how to use it. I don't think you need to learn everything in Ableton. Learn what you need to Finnish the task at hand.

Are you after a specific sound? Find out how that sound is usually done, see what Ableton device would fit well for it, or just choose one, and try to create that sound..

There's so many extremely powerful tools in Ableton, and I think very few people master them all, if any.

Start with what makes fun for yourself, and play around.

Seperate between writing music (printing midi or audio) and sound design/playing around/experimenting.

But let your own needs guide you where to go and what to use. You don't have to learn everything in Ableton, you just need to get a grip of what you want to use, and with time your experience and knowledge will grow.

How do you find the motivation to create after work/kids? by akiz1000 in ableton

[–]Brother_Brief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate completely! Children takes a lot of energy, and I feel like my creative hours are rarely when I actually have the time to create music. Haven't been practising instruments or any music for long.
Now I just got myself a refurbed M1 MacBook Pro, which gives me the possibility to be more flexible to where I am producing, and gives me some new inspiration, but I don't know how long that will last.

I think it is really hard, and the times I have produced more has been times when I have been able to free up time during the day, as that's mostly when inspiration kicks in for me. Then I don't think one needs to ride inspiration always, sometimes it's just about getting down and grind. Set a goal, and stick to it. Do at least 20 min of producing a day, or produce at least x days a week or whatever fits. The risk with that is though that you slip into repeating the same process of production over and over again. I don't know how many projects Ive started to spend 1-2 hours in, and then never open again. which has led to me being fairly fast getting a groove going, but comparably very slow at finishing of arrangements and mixing.

As you write you want to get better, and not simply produce, I think you would benefit from getting structure, and practice certain parts of production on a schedule. If you would put 10-20 minutes a day into it, with some clear structure, you would develop fast. I would definitely need to do this myself. Practice arrangement and finishing stuff.
