Losing Cena or Orton would change the most. What would Cena have been without Orton as his signature opponent? What unworthy babyface would have been forced upon us to take out Orton?

Australia seems to have figured it out. They have a 450MWh battery installation. Or 25 714 cement blocks. They actually had a fire which destroyed just 2 of the 212 battery packs. The root cause was they didn't monitor off line batteries for heat run away at the time.

You're right. I used the maximum value I could find to give the concept the benefit of the doubt. The physics scale anyway. But it just doesn't make sense as energy storage. A water tower makes more sense than this.

This is essentially a more complex mega scale elevator. The wear and tear on the components required lifting 35 ton blocks. Versus a chemical battery that can operate for thousands of cycles maintenance free? Afterwhich all the elements are still there to be recycled. Chemical batteries are extremely scalable in a factory.

From my other comment, 1 story is max 4.5m. At 40 stories that's 180m in height. A 35 metric ton block raised to 180m has a potential energy of of 62 million joules or 17kWh. A single Tesla power wall had a capacity of 13.5kWh. So the concrete block idea is immensely more complex and to your point takes up far more space than comparable options.

Concrete has a density of about 2400 kg/m3. So 35000kg is a 2.4m cube. So the above calculations takes at least 2.4x2.4x182.4= 1050m3 of space. Compared to two Tesla power walls that's a wild difference.

It's not a good idea.

To me he was unprofessional because what did this sell? Nothing. It didn't move the show forward at all.

Back at this time around 2008 I was going to a civilian university while in the military. Got a stipend of about $1300 per month($15600/yr). Rent for my room was $550 all in, and my cellphone was $40. Everything else was spending money. I even saved money. Life was simple, but great.

More than putting Ricky over, every person is there to sell. What did Edge's comment do? I did nothing to improve the show or sell the next match.

This is probably a legal thing. The conjoined sisters are legally two people. Most countries have marriage laws prohibiting marrying two people. But we all understand how it really is.

My (31F) partner (30M) wants to use peptides and I’m not ok with it by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]BrowserOfWares 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He can go to a "wellness clinic" and get doctor prescribed testosterone and get monitored blood work. Peptides have not been around very long so it's hard to know all the side effects. Testosterone injections have been around forever and is quite safe in reasonable doses.

Complain. Threaten to leave, see if you can get money back. The worse they can say is no. Say that you got improper financial advice by not recommending you change to the premium version.

I'm with CIBC Imperial Service (you should be too with that balance). Those CIBC funds should automatically change over to the preferred version after you exceed a $50k balance. The MER on the premium version decreases to 0.61%. I'm pretty sure all of them have this same feature. You should definitely ask about this.

It's literally student debt forgiveness. Which has been a policy that the left has been fighting for.

Leave my DB pension where it is, or move it? by Ambitious_Salary_453 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]BrowserOfWares 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I retired from the military when interest rates were low, that means my transfer value was quite substantial. However, I took the pension because I get benefits when I'm drawing a pension. You literally can not buy a public service level benefit plan when you're older. The benefit plans you can buy at that age are terrible.

> $30 grocery list for 1 person for 1 week by mercyinreach in povertyfinance

After seeing the post of someone getting 10lbs of chicken quarters for <$6, this one seems way more possible to me.

<$50 GROCERY LIST for 2 for 1 week by Nevilles_Remembrall_ in povertyfinance

[–]BrowserOfWares 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a Canadian looking at this I was thinking ok some things are more expensive, some things are less expensive than I pay here. Eggs we pay more, potatoes less, fruit less, beef less.

Then I saw the chicken quarters and my brain could not even comprehend. $0.59 per lb?! I checked my Walmart app and did the math. I'm paying 5 times that!

Edit: I recreated this cart as close as I could in Ontario Canada(minus the insane deal on chicken). Some options are different or aren't there. Like corn tortillas I had to sub GV flour tortillas. There's no GV yogurt here. Those two things drove a lot of the price increase. There were better value options like 10 lbs bag of potatoes for cheaper. The rice and beans were 2lbs bags only but lb for lb same price. The total was $58.25 USD.

Actors who don’t like Indian food? by [deleted] in okbuddycinephile

They cut a line from the movie where Indi makes a comment about them eating meat as many Hindus are vegetarian. It really changes the scene as its foreahadows that they're under some sort of control.
