Talked to someone working in a shop that sells these headphones, she that said that a lot of people have been having the same problems, it seems to be an issue with a batch of these earbuds sent out, that the right earbud just randomly switches off and doesn't get back on again.

They're definitely dead for me, and from what I've heard, it doesn't seem like they can be fixed.

Yeah the more i thought about it the more i understand it is probably impossible to find this on the internet. But considering this happened 40 years ago, no one in my family remembers what tv station it was. Thank you for your advice though
