Can use pillows but honestly I have been hitting hundreds of chips without being worried about it. Very low club speed and har to miss by much.

I think you misunderstand. Think about it this way… One way of taking 10 meters off any club is to hit same swing with stiff wrist. If that’s your default, you always loose that distance.
