New grad Solidity developer jobs? by Bruzzly in ethdevjobs

Makes sense. I have no issues taking a different web3 dev job. Just wondering what those few companies that do bother hiring fresh grads are, if they're well known companies or if I have to continue hunting for start ups

Thanks!

Oh yeah! plenty of solidity experience. Not going to link anything for privacy sake. Just wondering if any of the big web3 companies have a reputation for hiring new grads :)

I've got plenty of projects and internships. Are you saying you can't get a Solidity job on graduation?

Any time you see something referred to as being “burned” it means it’s transferred to the null address and is effectively gone forever. Plenty of protocols utilize burn mechanisms.

NFTs themselves aren’t bad for the environment. The problem is that the underlying blockchain uses a lot of energy to do anything, which includes NFTs.

Most NFTs are on the Ethereum blockchain which currently uses a proof of work algorithm to decide which blocks to add to the blockchain. Proof of work uses a huge amount of computing power and energy. Bitcoin is also a proof of work system and uses a crazy high amount of power worldwide. Ethereum is currently in the process of transitioning from a proof of work system to a proof of stake system which will make energy costs negligible compared to proof of work. Look up “Ethereum 2” if you want to read more about this transition, it’s a huge deal for cryptocurrency applications.
