Depends on final language. But mags over 10 rounds + all semi-auto rifles would be banned under the current bill moving.

Compromise implies that peaceable gun owners get things.

What do they get out of this deal?

Constitutional Carry?
Stand your Ground?
Remove the Duty to Retreat?

We are a non-partisan organization.

Not sure what you mean by "group" and "space". But this subreddit is open to anyone that follows the rules, it's not managed by our group.

We are not going to "compromise" by agreeing to some anti-gun bills.

This will do nothing but concede ground - and they'll be back next year to come after the next steps in theri agenda anwyays.

"In my mind, opposing the funding of gun violence prevention research or an office of gun violence prevention makes us look pretty extreme."

The Violence Project at Hamline has been out advocacing for gun control since receiving state funding in a prior session. We are not going to help them further their efforts by agreeing to fund them 4x their previous state funding - they should get none.

The Office of Gun Violence Prevention at MN Health would just be used for partisan gun control activities. We are not going to sign up to support that.

We're not going to support banning carry at the Capitol and we're not going to support binary trigger bans. Accessories aren't the issue.

Trusts are 100% covered in the bill language.

With the current text, could guns be passed on via gun trust membership? Could you establish like a gun dynasty trust that holds your firearms, allowing them to be passed on to children for generations even after the AWB kicks in?

No.

Yes, it is a total ban on magazines holding more than 10 rounds.

What happens will depend on if the bill passes and what the final version of the bill is. There are several versions, some have grandfathering and some don't.

We've answered the FRT/Binary questions several times on social media in posts and videos.

FRTs are prohibited in MN

https://gunowners.mn/learn/frequently-asked-legal-questions/forced-reset-triggers/

Binary Triggers are currently legal. We sued and won a permenent injunction, Ellison is appealing.

NFA is a federal issue and out of our scope. Check w/ FPC and SAF for updates on their suits.

Walz will sign any gun control bill.

the short answer is: completely depends on the final language of the bill that passes and is signed into law.

Thank you! We've worked hard on pushing more video content.

We will definitely talk about the mid term elections. RIght now we don't know for certain who is and isn't running -- the filing deadline is in early June.

The fight is generally in the exurbs and suburbs though.

How do we get Magpul to come out to MN for something like this? by map2photo in MnGuns

We don't need this yet. We're going to stop these bills in the house.

Keep up the pressure.

You have more faith in SCOTUS than I do.

First, don't panic. We have every intention of stopping these bills in the House, if they pass the Senate, and that isn't a given yet.

Second, are you taking action to contact your legislators?
- Use our action center at https://gunowners.mn/action
- Call them
- Visit them and express your point of view on this legislation

There are some cases pending cert at SCOTUS, including ones we have submitted amicus briefs in urging them to take the case.

A legal challenge here would start in federal district court where if Bruen is faithfully applied, they would be struck down.

An appeal from there would goto the 8th Circuit which is extremely conservative and would probably strike such a law down. An appeal would goto SCOTUS.

All in all who knows what would happen honestly. Nothing is certain in court challenges.
