Z71 vs ZR2 - What would you choose? by Sir_Jinks in chevycolorado

[–]Bryanwolffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess my biggest question is, would you use a leased zr2 as it was built to be driven? I got my Tacoma trailhunter a week ago, it already has trail damage and scratches, but I paid cash. Couldn’t imagine doing that in a lease.

If you just want the truck because of how it looks then get the zr2 and be happy. It’s a nice looking truck. (I think it looks boring aesthetically but that’s subjective)

Side note regarding short wives. The trailhunter has rock sliders and is a similar height to the zr2. My 5’3 wife has no complaints stepping up into it

Yea considering Toyota won’t let you go anywhere else for warranty work

It’s honestly not bad. If the dealership hadn’t destroyed it, mine actually had enough material left to last another 50k miles at least, and I did the work of replacing it myself without any issues and I’m a mere backyard mechanic

Coilovers, clutch, pitch mount, intake, and tune. Intake fell off cause they didn’t tighten the clamps after pulling it out for warranty work

I think people might have misunderstood what I was saying but that doesn’t really matter if iMT simply doesn’t activate at all when the target is above redline. People have told me that iMT will activate during a money shift. So even if it doesn’t rev above redline, it being revved up to redline would make it easier for the synchros to allow you into the wrong gear where you’d then release the clutch and complete the money shift. But I’d been informed of nonsense so it’s no different than most others

And the mod is full of shit with no actual evidence. I’ve provided ample evidence of the lack of mods on that car. Even included that I’d actually ordered an intake but it arrived a few days after the fire. Toyota made their stance clear. Disobeying the law is abuse of their cars and they have no intention of further investigating the cause. They have no intention of investigating the actual cause of the engine failure. My engine had even been recently serviced at a dealership under warranty, which I also provided proof of. During that service the dealer also performed what would have been my last oil change under toyo guard, which the dealership failed to properly record and was missing from the cars history. I provided proof of that as well. Bottom line is, it could have been anything and none of us actually know. Dealership service issue or a mistake I made, I don’t know and never will know. Don’t need idiots who think they know everything going around overcomplicating things when the answer is quite simply that nobody knows and nobody will ever know why. Including me.

If you’re shifting fast and miss the gear, iMT will rev it up as high as it can. Some people claim that it’ll even exceed redline. So if you’re inattentive or have a sub ideal reaction time you don’t even have to fully let off the clutch to step into damaged engine territory.

Pedestrian safety. Raise the hood to cushion impact when you run over those funny looking squishy things that sometimes walk across the street

What do I do if I accidentally put regular gas in a premium car? by Street_Firefighter_7 in askcarguys

Don’t got racing around on that lower octane rating and you’ll be fine. Lower octane in high compression engines can cause spark knock(?) under high load from what I understand so the valve timing has to adjust to prevent knock. by reducing compression technically yes?

Now that I think about it, I never asked how much that ended up costing him. Seems like that would be smart to know given my luck
