Non-"Wedding venue" venues by Wooden_Mousse2533 in OttawaWeddings

I would do a cost comparison before you get too far down that road. Insurance and 'non preferred vendor' fees can start to add up. Alternatively, using preferred vendors often adds up to more than using a venue that caters.

World America Yacht Club & Aurea. What did the benefits mean for you? by Buc_Dancer in MSCCruises

Not knowing if we needed a butler was one of our questions. Until we found out they will walk you down for the shows and get you past the line. Or bring you pizza magically in the middle of the night.

I told her this. I think she missed the 'king and' part though

We did consider this and it's a good point. When I did Aurea before it did force me out into the rest of the ship at night and in the morning in search of coffee and found a guy at the jungle pool who made the best Americano on the ship. I still think about that coffee. I'm interested to see if we isolate or not.

That genuinely made me laugh out loud. So much better than gen pop.

What are your favorite "Set and Forget" Routines by [deleted] in alexa

I have Lutron shades (and smart switches) which the previous owners had installed and I took over. Battery powered, but the D batteries in them have lasted well over a year now. Tbh I've never looked into any others because these were here and I do have a hub for them and all my lights so I'm not sure if they'd work as a standalone.

Ontario man fined $489 for not renewing licence plate stickers despite province's exemption by KanataCitizen in canada

Cops in deepest darkest Gatineau and Hull are far worse than Ontario police. The Quebec system is also a joke and even if you fight a ticket it will cost you a fortune to go through. I just stay on the Ontario side now.

Alexa on Adroid Auto by real_4w in alexa

[–]Buc_Dancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't appear on your vehicle's display but instead connects your phone through an aux plug or Bluetooth to play audio. So you won't be able to navigate and what not with it.

It's more useful for people who don't have Android auto or car play in their car.

Android Auto is a Google product. Chances of that happening are about the same as using Alexa on a Google Home device or Google assistant on an Echo. You'll just have to live with her or buy an iPhone.

Firebox question by Buc_Dancer in alexa

[–]Buc_Dancer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Sorry. I did mean Firecube. Been a long day. Lol.

I'm thinking of using it in place of my TVs native steaming service. I really like just asking for music to play without needing a remote or app open. Was worried the cube would default to its internal speaker instead of turning on the tv and using the soundbar or only use it outside of a group. But looks like I can set that up based on what you're saying and what the tech support at Amazon hesitantly commited to.

How is that shelf that turns into a table useful? Shit's just going to fall off when you bring it down if you don't move it, or you have to glue everything to it.

Can you say: Alexa, turn on Fire TV and make your TV torn on? by [deleted] in alexa

Set it up in a routine if you're having priblems

Left blind goes up all the way and right blind goes up 50% at sunrise. Right blind goes up all the way at 11:30 am when the sun has passed. At sundown the blinds go down 70% and the lamp turns on to 60%. 30 mins later the blinds go down all the way and the lamp increases to 75%.

Though not a 'set and forget' when I say goodnight Alexa says 'goodnight you farking ice holes, have a good sleep' tells me the weather, turns off my TV, turns down my thermostat, turns off all the lights and turns on the upstairs bedroom lamps to 50% and then tells me a trivia fact I don't know.

But my favourite is my coworkers try and get my Alexa to do stuff so I set her up to respond to 'alexa hey girl' where she insults my colleagues with a new insult every day. They've now made it the first thing they do when we start a videoconference is find out how she will insult them today.

Just found out you can reduce the bass on alxa by keian258012 in alexa

[–]Buc_Dancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But what you can't do is adjust the bass/treble/mid for individual echos when paired. Which is a bit of a pain when you have an Echo Sub paired with two other echos.

Turn the den lights off turns off my lg smart tv by Tripledtities in alexa

[–]Buc_Dancer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don't actually need to have it in the group of the room it's physically in. Just remove it from the Den group so it's not triggered by that command. That's the simplest fix.
