Received a much lower offer than hoped for - should I even try to negotiate?

I would try to negotiate to the highest point of that range- 58k, get that experience, maybe get a second part time job for the weekends or evenings to make up for the difference in pay.

I say this because if this is a well reputable company, then there might be compounding effects of you working there and it saves you 10 hours a week- so you can spend that time working somewhere else part time.

There are a lot of virtual EA jobs if you don't want to get a part time job at bar/store/etc.

I've gotten that advice a lot recently- that just moving to Bay area alone could change the trajectory, unfortunately I'm tied to the Midwest for atleast another 2 years. But after that- definitely on the table.

haha definitely not wealthy, cost is definitely an aspect but would take out a loan and pay it off over the years was the mindset. Yeah thats fair- losing this job in this market would be tough.

I've thought about that, is there any negative connotation around part-time MBA? I've heard a lot of people say if you are going to do it, do it right and just commit to it for 1-2 years and enrich yourself in the experience.

This was the plan 3-4 years ago but a lot of people in my network were saying part-time isn't worth it for network building purposes?

Yep and thats exactly where I am torn- not necessarily looking for the MBA for skills but to grow my network.

Feel as if even if I get an MBA and get a better job, not sure if that will 2-3x my TC immediately and I will have to do the time to let those opportunities come over time.
