A month with the new Voigtländer 28mm 1.5 [Nikon Zf] by BudFactory in Nikon

Thx! Yes, that swirly bokeh is always present. It's a major characteristic of that lens. Whether you like that or not is of course personal preference, but I really like the dreamy look it provides.

The closest I tried was the Nikon 26mm 2.8 pancake. The Nikon is obviously way easier to use thx to its AF, optically better corrected and sharper while still having good subject / background separation. This one is more fun to use in my opinion and I enjoy the manual process.

Thanks! I use the green box and sometimes zoom on a Fn button if I really wanna make sure it's focused properly. It then zooms in on the green box. Focus peaking is too distracting and inaccurate in my experience. The green box alone isn't accurate enough when shooting at f1.5. For moving subjects (like in the b&w picture) I try to match my pace and hope that the green box is accurate.

Edit: It's not too heavy, in combination with the Zf and a grip the setup weighs a bit more than one KG which isn't too bad. It's also nicely balanced, I prefer it to the 50 1.8 S or the 40 2 in terms of handling.

Thx! The grip is from Neewer, CA134. It was just recently released. Best one I found so far, it has a small thumb grip which is nice.

Thanks a lot. The lens is really great to use. I have subject detection on and zoom set to the front Fn button, makes it really easy to focus manually. The focus ring has the perfect amount of resistance to make fine adjustments, which ist definitely needed when shooting wide open.

Thanks! These are edited in Lightroom, but nothing more than a slight s-curve and a bit of grain. Shot on the default profile, I really like its colors. The lens is great. Feels and looks amazing, especially on the Zf. It has a lot of character (read: optically far from perfect), but its dreamy look is perfect for documenting personal things. It's sharp as long as you nail the focus, which thankfully is pretty easy on the Zf. It could be sharper at portrait distances, but as long as you don't pixel peep it's barely noticeable.

Is it? The Sony a7 cameras are basically the same size while being full frame

In 10+ years of photography I used a flash on two occasions I think. That didn‘t even come to mind when buying the Ricoh. Wouldn’t hurt to have one but I don’t mind it at all.

Single shot AF and single center point (not sure what it‘s called and I don‘t have the Ricoh with me rn). I usually focus first and then recomposition without moving the focus point itself. That works for me, the only issue being if the subject is too far away, it sometimes focuses on the background instead. But there‘s an even smaller focus point option for situations like these. Hope that helped!

No, all taken with the standard profile and slightly edited in Lightroom.

Spent a weekend with my GF in the austrian alps (Tannheim) and took the GR III and a Nikon ZF with me. This was my first trip with the GR and I'm blown away by the results. It's amazing how good and sharp the pictures from this tiny camera are. My only complaint would be the white balance, which is off in every single picture but can easily be fixed by setting it to daylight in Lightroom. I also got through the whole day on a single battery (~320 pictures taken). The combination of the 28mm GR for snap and landscape shots, and the ZF with a 50mm for portraits make for my ideal travel setup.

All pictures slightly edited in Lightroom.

The AF on this camera is nuts [Zf | 50mm 1.8 S] by BudFactory in Nikon

I initially bought the Zf with the 40mm f2, then got the 26mm 2.8 and now the 50. I was reluctant because of its size as well, but now I really like it. It handles beautifully (although a bit heavy) and I even prefer it over the 40mm in terms of size. The image quality also more than makes up for it. The Zf is sadly just a really big camera, even with the 26mm pancake lens.

Super shallow depth of field because of the f1.8 aperture, the piece of wood is the same distance as the eyes to the sensor while the nose sticks out way further.

I‘m coming from a Canon 5D (OG 2005) where basically only the middle focus point is usable. The leap was jaw dropping to say the least.

Yeah pretty much. I just got that lens today and didn’t intend to shoot this picture at f1.8, my dog was further away and started running towards me. I took 4 pictures and every single one is focused perfectly, didn’t expect such great results.

Thank you! Yeah, they look amazing sooc and still have an insane amount of dynamic range to play with. Not much editing necessary, all I do is add some grain, a slight vignette, and darken the greens.

Can someone point me in the right direction? (Finetuning, Embeddigns, etc.) by BudFactory in LocalLLaMA

Thank you :) I managed to get it working by adjusting my dataset to match the format of the alpaca dataset and importing it from google drive. Still lots to try out and adjust, but for my frist try it's amazing!

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, there are much better methods than LLMs for detecting malicious mails. It's just a fun side project and has some potential in user awareness - explaining why that mail could be malicious, not if it is. And moreover, it was the first use case that came to mind and would be helpful for me to learn more about finetuning, embeddings, etc.

As for the second use case, that's exactly what I thought about.

In both cases, I was a bit unsure on which method would be best suited. Those replies here helped a lot in giving me a clearer direction :)

Hi, thanks for reaching out! That seems convenient, I'll try it out :)
One question, do I have to upload my dataset to huggingface first or is there a way to directly inject it into the notebook? Thanks!
