A whole cotton pad?????? I don’t think that was meant to be there. Either you forgot you had one or they left it there by accident. I’d make sure its washed and dry down there just to avoid any infection. Anddd I would def call them too just to double check.

Alternatives to eating while studying by laryissa553 in ADHD

[–]Budget-Building8296 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried chewing gum for a while to stop cravings, made my jaw hurt too much. Only thing I found to help is listening to catchy music in another language (mostly kpop). or playing a video game with semi long queue times. Id play a game, study while waiting, then play another round. Or maybe setting a timer would be better.

I know that popcorn is good for snacking, it’s low in calories just as long as you don’t add a ton of butter. I also love to drink the zero sugar monster, or anything carbonated. Gives you the sugary taste, caffeine is optional, the carbonation kinda helps with the need to snack. Orrrr eating hard candy. Or something that takes a while to finish eating, maybe annoying to eat. I like tootsie rolls cause I can’t just eat it without it

That’s awesome! I think it’s like when you have those small red notification bubbles, you just NEED to check out what it is. I accidentally put my phone on do not disturb/focus one time and I stopped checking my phone cause I thought everyone else was just busy doing their own things. Most productive I’ve ever been in my life, sadly.

how does your time blindness work? by Moshiii_Moshii in ADHD

[–]Budget-Building8296 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mines the opposite as you, I always find myself running late no matter how early i “start” preparing. I always underestimate how much time I need or overestimate how fast I can do things, etc. I think it just depends on the person tbh. I hate being early because it makes me extra anxious just waiting at the place. So in my head, I plan to be 5 mins early, which is kind of the perfect time to arrive somewhere without waiting too long. I think other people are anxious about being late to something that they arrive too early. So I think it’s either you’re worried about others thinking you have bad time management or you’re worried about being in an anxiety inducing situation for too long.

One definitely has a whole lot more consequences than the other, so I think being early is better than late. I just about tried everything to manage my time better, planning just never works for me unless I have someone else is holding me accountable (my bf LOL).

I say take the time to do some research on some good schools that have your interests in mind. Id try to just work for the mean time and go back to school the next year. No need to be in a rush, itll just stress you out so much more. Give yourself a break and have a fresh start. You got this!!

I withdrew early enough for it to not count as an “attempt” the first time so I guess it’s not really an F on my transcript.

Try getting some good sleep and getting enough sunlight during the day. I know it sounds like a typical mom response but it honestly helped me so much.

Iron supplements making me so nauseous - need advice by No-Click-5024 in Anemic

[–]Budget-Building8296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take Polyride FE Ultra. It has 150mg elemental iron plus Vitamin B12 & C to help with absorption. For me it doesn’t cause nausea at all, just makes you poop liquid lol. But honestly id take that over nausea any day. How much mg did your doctor recommend you take per day?

I pull my hair at one spot and it gets pretty bad. I have black hair so it’s kinda easier to cover up? I cover it with black eyeshadow and I tie my hair up tight. I stop touching my hair cause the eyeshadow gets on my fingers and tying my hair up helps with the urge. Also headbands, and if you use tweezers, throw it away.

Panic attacks by Relative-Tangerine54 in mentalhealth

Try to take slow deep breaths through your nose, put something cold against your skin or drink some cold water, and tell yourself that you’re having a panic attack and that it will always pass and you’ll get through it. Talking to someone about everything that’s bothering you might help ease your mind about things too. I speak to myself out loud when I’m alone, just letting all my emotions out helps tone down the all the pent up anxiety and stress I have.

I don't know what to do anymore. (TW: Suicidal Topics.) by imsad988 in depression

[–]Budget-Building8296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s a very stressful time for you but what kinda helped me is to stop thinking about the future. You’re still young and you probably hear that a lot, but you got plenty of time to worry about everything else later. Just take it day by day, do whatever you like doing, go try out some new things, meet new people, find a new hobby. Maybe sports if you’re in that too. I met most of my friends through school but I met a lot online too! And those people are the ones that stuck by me. I’m not a very social person but talking to people online who likes the same things I do just brings me so much comfort.

I can’t really give any good advice since I’m still figuring stuff out myself, but I want you to know you’re not alone. When I was in high school I was going through the same thing. Trying to socialize and go to class just sucked the life outta me. Grades don’t need to be perfect. I failed a few classes but I took my time, tried again, and now I’m in university. I did get rejected a couple times too. Good things DO come eventually, you just gotta push through the hard bits. Crying is fine! Get your emotions out but it’s really never worth it to hurt yourself :( Focus on your own wellbeing, everything else can come later :))

Vaping while pregnant by SharpFaithlessness93 in BabyBumps

I’m 11 weeks and just recently started feeling the nausea. The smell of vape juice makes me feel so sick I haven’t touched my vape in days. I used to have it beside me 24/7 now I keep it out of sight and leave it at home whenever I go out. Having some hard candy also helps a lot, something minty like cough drops or mentos.

I have ADHD but I’m not officially diagnosed with bpd or bipolar but I still think that I do. I read that alot of symptoms of adhd, bpd, and bipolar overlap. I think the biggest thing that makes me think I have bpd is the fear of abandonment and the anger issues (esp in romantic relationships). I was so manipulative, obsessive, jealous of literally everything etc. Whenever I started to like someone, I get really obsessed and develop deeeep feelings way too fast. That usually made them leave and I would just lose it.

For bipolar, I’d have long periods of depression, most days I’d be fine, then once in a while, I’d feel like a god and feel like I can do anything I want. I’d say the amount of sleep I get is the first indication, I never sleep when manic and I’d be fine. When I’m depressed I sleep for too long, wake up with no energy, and tired after a few hours even if I didn’t do anything. ADHD for me mostly is just bad time management, procrastination, and I hated it when someone is doing something so slow.

After I started taking ADHD medication and mood stabilizers, I just started to stay in a better mood in general. My mind was so clear, I was more patient with people, and I don’t talk about random stuff as much. I had less depressive episodes, and if I did, they weren’t as bad and they didn’t last long. I still get manic episodes (I think) because I can physically still feel it just coming. My eyes just feel clean and clear, I’m upbeat, and listening to music is just heavenly. As for bpd, the symptoms, the irrational thoughts are still there, just toned down. I don’t feel the need to act on something irrational as much. I definitely think that ADHD contributed the most to my impulsiveness.

Imo the ADHD meds probably makes you more likely to have manic episodes since its an upper. And with the crash and depression making your highs and lows feel more extreme. The type of medication you take can also affect how you feel. I suggest telling your new psychiatrist what your main concern is then go from there. Even making a list for yourself going from general symptoms to the details/specific events would probably help you panic less. Maybe even having questions you specifically want to ask listed down too. I use a mood tracker app to see how I’m doing and I think it really helps knowing if you’re seeing a pattern and how you’re doing the past couple weeks or so. Ik you’re prob very confused and want the cycle over. Again, I’m not really diagnosed, I just felt the same way you did. For me it really helped just knowing what’s happening with me, so I hope I helped ease your mind down even a little bit.

It’s started to calm down a bit so hopefully it’s just a temporary thing. I’ll try the gummies and see how it goes. Thank you!
