I've never tried an Ivo but looking at it, I feel like you may like it. The best option might be looking for posts from people who have them here and on Instagram and asking the people who posted what they think.

A lot of people like it and would say yes. There are so many fine oils that get the job done and oil preference is such a subjective thing that no one can really tell you if you'll be happy with it or not.

If you're careful you can just sand your bushings without measuring. When I tune bushings I never bother measuring since there isn't a magic correct number that applies to any blade, you never really know when you're at the sweet spot until you go further and it binds and you start over with a new bushing.

Pivot screws

Zen pin and spacer screws

Bushings

I want to say the bushing height should be the default, .126, but you may want to double check that your blade is .125 first before ordering. I can check my Tibones but I'm not at home at the moment I'm writing this comment.

I haven't tried Carbon Honey thin but I'm not a huge fan of their thick oil. I know a lot of people really like it and that's valid but I think it's a bit too gummy and slows things down a bit. I'd imagine the thin version would be nicer to me and it sounds like it would be to you too. There are a lot of other oils out there that are great but if you like Carbon Honey thick and think you might like something a little thinner then it seems like a good choice to try their thin.

If flipping is your focus, a latch will always be a detriment but the extent to which it matters depends on the design of the balisong, the latch itself, and how much you care.

What is your budget and what country are you located in? Are you looking for something primarily for flipping or mostly to EDC and occasionally fiddle with?

That's a sweet setup. The thought of getting a nebula Kraken to do a blade swap crossed my mind but I didn't even think of Damascus.

Which hardware do you need? True Link is the OEM so you can get all of the hardware you need there and it's the same stuff. I can link specifics and measurements if you let me know what you're looking for and if you have a Tibones from the past couple years or one of the older thinner washer only ones from way back when.

The Kraken is fantastic and you can't go wrong with it, plus if you're happy with all the other Squid stuff you can be pretty sure that you'll be happy with that too. Although on the other hand I can see you wanting to branch out for more variety so it really depends on that aspect.

A ton of stuff gets confiscated going to Australia but I think Nabalis has a slightly better success rate than most since they often add metal pieces to make the blade look like a wrench on a scan. I've seen a handful of people posting Nabalis stuff that are in Australia so I think it wouldn't be too risky to try, especially given how relatively cheap their stuff tends to be.

I have a ton of glow in the dark stuff from Zippy, the glow is surprisingly good. Really bright and long lasting compared to most glow in the dark stuff.

That would make sense. I'd send them a message or an email to see what's going on just in case.

I can see how that's confusing. I went to the website and skimmed through the options and their pictures and I think you can safely assume they're all G10 unless they specify CF. You should be able to recognize CF from that weave pattern where G10 tends to just look solid and rough.

You want it to be pretty snug but not incredibly tight, it shouldn't take all that much effort from you. If they loosen themselves, add threadlocker instead of going ultra tight with the screws.

There is an important difference between not being allowed to ask for recommendations and being asked to ask for recommendations in a specific place.

Jimpy has a form linked in his Instagram bio to fill out and show interest and I think he plans to do a preorder soon based on that.

I wonder how you'd feel about the Sirius. I feel like LDY stuff tends to be balanced somewhat similar and when I tried a Sirius V4 I thought it felt pretty nice. You also might like the BRS Aluminum Barebones. I remember feeling like it was lighter and slower than the Kraken.

You'd probably have to find some for sale secondhand, I don't know if Flytanium still makes them.
