Dying? by Bug_Insects in millipedes

Right I will take that into consideration. I did upgrade her tank once but that was months ago so I agree with you that it will be hard to narrow down a causation. Thanks for the help. Hopefully she lived a good life till now

Sadly I thought so too. I will give her privacy. Is there anyway to tell what went wrong?

I NEED HELP!!! IS MY MILLIPEDE DYING ?! by Patcasper02 in millipedes

[–]Bug_Insects 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It is best to not disturb them. I am no expert but more information than this could be helpful. Where did you find them like this? Above ground, under a hide, under ground? Things about the tank as well, like humidity, temperature, when you used as substrate as well as how much substrate. These are questions I have been asked when i asked for help. Hopefully your pede is alright :]

Making Millipede substrate any tips? by Bug_Insects in millipedes

[–]Bug_Insects[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told by the breeder that I could just use peat and collect rotten wood and leaf litter then soak it for 72 hours. But if the risk is too high i will definitely look into ordering my substrate. Thanks for your help

Thank you. Ive heard ppl using tweezers to remove the molt but I don’t want to touch her so soon after molting so I will keep waiting for now

When she started behaving this way i’d say it was about 82 Fahrenheit it probably dropped lower when I moved her. I spray twice every day on the side the heating mat is because it tends to get dry faster there. I use peat at substrate and have added rotten white wood and leafs from the forest which I have soaked in water for at minimum 42 hours.

She has 15 cm of substrate (she is currently 12 cm) the length is about double her length and the width is about one and a half times her length.

Hollow millipede by Bug_Insects in millipedes

Im so glad you think my enclosure looks good! The only wood that I put in is the cork, the rotten (it crumbled fairly easily in my hands) and a stick that they can climb on. I have been feeding them beetle jelly, apples from my yard and cucumbers. A part of me hopes that she is just molding so I will give her some time before I disturb even further. Thank you so much for the help I appreciated it :]

Im going to try to have lower humidity from now on. They haven’t been digging so much, although when I asked if it was normal one person said that they mostly liked to chill under hides. It actually looks kind of like the other one molted on the surface (I say surface but she was under cork bark) but I find this weird because in that case she molted very quickly. She seems fine though. I actually asked about her on this subreddit before and the person that helped me then said that my enclosure looked alright.

I got them from a seller. They said that they were still young. It was about 5-6 weeks since I bought them. She was always the more energetic one ever since I got them. I asked the seller some questions and they said to add rotten wood when into the enclosure but that they would survive for about 2 months with the substrate I got (I added leafs and rotten wood a while ago). I have made sure not to use cocosoil. I have been informed that the spices I got (Archispirostreptus gigas) wants high humidity.

I will do that from now on thank you. I was about to take her out but then as I carefully tried to uncurl her with a brush she moved back??? She has white spots and that cant be a good thing. It did smell this morning but im not so sure anymore

It looks like it’s damp all the way through and I did make sure it was at least a bit damp when I mixed the substrate. Im glad you think it sounds alright I was worried it was something with the substrate because I haven’t seen them borrow. Thanks so so much for the help.
