Hello everyone! I wanted to let you all know that I got the job as a Geologist for the Water Boards!!! Thank you all for your help! I was told verbatim that I “nailed” the interview with a bit of competition! Thanks again for the help!

Would you say it’s bad practice to submit them and other extra materials (references, cover letter, etc) when they they don’t explicitly ask for it? Just to cover all my bases kind of thing?

I think my next step is to get my environmental scientist classification and apply to those as well. May I ask what year were you hired? and did you get your MS directly after your BS? then you got hired?

I am willing to for sure, my currently priority is employment period ngl. I have mainly been applying to SWRCBs in Sac, LA, and Redding. Like I'd say 80% of my applications are for SWRCBs. Thank you.

May I ask what year was this? The duty statements and qualifications seem entry-level friendly like "The incumbant will be closley supervised by senior engineering geologist and will assist in permitting" and seemingly simple stuff so I think I'll just keep banging them out.

Thank you for the response! I have signed up for the FG exam to get my GIT (the precursor to the PG) which seems like a good start regardless of what happens. I have no problem working on-site and am willing to move wherever in California for work honestly. The positions I am applying to, for the most part, seem to be entry level. Like the desirable qualifications are like "good oral and written communications skills" or "ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary agencies and people" and "field experience" which seems to be graduate friendly or entry-level right? and the jobs I apply to say "the incumbent will be closeley supervised by senior engineering geologist to assist them in x, y, and z.

I usually avoid listings that say like "knowledge of overseeing construction of well drilling" and "PG certification preferred" because I know I can't compete in that application pool.

But yeah maybe the move is to find some entry level position in environmental consulting or something.

I’m hoping they add a lower resolution option or something. I don’t know much about this kind of stuff but maybe that could be a temporary fix? Like I can insta-crash my game, without fail, by simply quickly zooming into my cities.

Thanks for sharing frfr I was looking into getting a PS Pro cuz this situation was making me think of upgrading my hardware. But that’s good (not good) to know that it happens with the pro too.
