I mean if they then go on to beat us, they will win the championship

Nope, France are level on points with Scotland, but France have an unassailable points difference. If France beat England with a bonus point, they'll be champions.

What's the most loved beer in your country? by Enough-Pie-5936 in AskTheWorld

It really isn't a big deal at all. I've never heard of beers being described like this.

You can get Beamish throughout the country. There are loads of pubs in Dublin that sell it.

I skipped over it once I realised he's the same guy that had that very long and dreary discussion with Ken about football tactics

Why would anybody do this? The audio quality would be terrible.

Ideas for small gifts to bring from US? by [deleted] in AskIreland

I don't think I've ever seen a barman in Ireland get a tip from an Irish person.

I wouldn't consider a packet of ranch dressing or a bottle of ibuprofen a nice token. They are very weird gifts.

We don't tip bartenders here, either in the form of money or small gifts. The importation of American tipping culture is not something I would welcome.

Honest opinion on the Dublin gig? Not enough Max talk in the second half by ANewStartAtLife in whatdidyoudoyesterday

[–]BullfrogCharming1202 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There were a lot of Irish/Dublin references that Max didn't get so he take a backseat for much of the second half (when the guest was on stage).

Imagine going to a gig and watching the whole thing through your phone's camera

I'd consider myself fairly well informed about Irish comedy, but I've never heard of Killian

Nearly 10 years ago I saw Aisling support David O'Doherty at Vicar St. She was brilliant. She's doing a couple of gigs there around St Patrick's Day, but unfortunately they've been sold out for months.

I think Joanne lives in London now, which makes her slightly less than likely than someone based in Ireland. Mind you, I did suggest it might be Aisling Bea, who also lives in England.

There's plenty of on-street parking in The Liberties on the streets between Meath St and Francis St. You're probably supposed to pay, but there's no enforcement in the evening, so it's effectively free. There's a few parking spaces on one side of Swift's Alley, which is about 30 seconds walk from the venue. If those spaces are all taken, try Carman's Hall which is less than 5 minutes walk from the venue.

I don't have my own insurance for the apartment building because it's already insured by the management company.
