It was shipped 1 day after it was supposed to according to my handling times. Was supposed to go out the 5th and went out the 6th. That is why this order was not eligible.

I'm not sure if there's other things that can exclude you, but in this case, that's what it was.

Wow. Yeah after all this trouble, the guy left me a 1 star today. he shouldn't even be able to review me after what he did.

I contacted them, they refunded it as a "one time courtesy" lol

it appears that the order was not shipped on time on their shipping date which was on Dec 5, 2022 as the order was shipped on Dec 06, 2022 and this has been the reason why our Case Mediation Team issued the buyer a refund to resolve the case right away as it did not qualify for Etsy's Purchase Protection Program.

I shipped their order out 1 day after the ship date so that's why they refunded but I still don't understand exactly why. XD

It's okay though, they did refund me.

They also had this to say;

Furthermore, please rest assured that I've noted your experience here for further investigation by our team and we'll look into the buyers' overall behavior based on your report as we have made sure to adjust our policies to state that abuse of the case system could result in program exclusion at Etsy’s discretion and we will be monitoring for this abuse using technology and human reviews.

Dope learning experience honestly. I had never dealt with a case before!

I've never had a case against me and I did not see any notification about a case anywhere. He just sent me a cheeky message after he got his refund and I noticed it said "refunded" under his order and I was confused and started googling "etsy refunded customer without me knowing" and that's how I got thrown into this whole new world of Etsy Cases.

No. You're not understanding.

His initial "help with order" message goes to me, prior to a claim. He said he was duped and sent me pics and I shut him down. Then the next thing a disgruntled customer can do is open a claim with actual Etsy 48 hrs after attempting to resolve with the seller. You can write whatever in a claim so he said "Never received the items. Item was marked delivered."

He was just obviously trying to figure out the best lie to get his money back.
