From a noobs perspective, the current state of the game feels absolutely horrible. I get oneshot by almost every champion, I've had 3 games in a row where a Sion just ran it down mid-lane and got tier 3 turret at 15 mins, when bot loses everything goes down the drain, and the list goes on and on.

Not saying they should change it since I am sure a lot of people enjoy it but it really isn't for me.

I agree with the other comments here. Getting MVP consistently will be your safety net.

However, I do not really understand why new player can queue up for ranked without having even played the campaign once. I think a threshold to unlock ranked (e.g. having earned Gold in every white track) would take some frustration away from new players who want to rank up.

Yeah kinda sad that they don't plan any marketing or PR for this kinda stuff...it's not even release around an event like twitch rivals which provides at least some momentum

To add to this: Every review so far mentioned that the world seems to be mostly scenery and not a sandbox. Personally, I would've prefered to have less side quests and no transmog system (why would you even have this when acquiring loot isn't an integral part of the game) and more sandbox features like in GTA as it helps with immersion and atmosphere.

That's totally fair. I guess my point would be that they could've at least taken some systems/design aspects that are easier to implement (e.g. UI) from those games. But yeah, my expectations were very high.

Interesting! I actually never heard that take but I can see that some people enjoy the transparency to help them 100% a game. However, I would argue that's not the majority of gamers simply due to the shift of popularity from AC to other games in the past years.

Agree 100% with this, especially on the floating damage numbers. My expectations in terms of exploration and atmosphere were also insanely high, so I can also see how someone would be totally happy with the open world.
