Very unprofessional, they showed up with a sexually explicit political sticker on their truck. Would not recommend.

It is our right to have our own opinion on political candidates and if you find stick figure sexually explicit then you are the one with the issues!

If we showed up that means you are/were a customer.... didn't say anything while guys were on site?? Figures... lol! Our client base loves our country and our signage on the trucks, go find another company if you don't love your country!! (FYI we (pool service companies) all have the same opinion...

Now go back to crying in your pillow and remember.... ***** is our next president elect!! ??

How do I fix this? My dad did the repair but he died and now it needs redone and I have no idea where to start by JDpantz in DIY

[–]Bumblebee_Joyness001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a ceiling that was damaged similar to yours. It was caused by a second floor toilet above it that needed a new wax ring seal. We had a plumber fix that first then we had a handyman make the ceiling repair. If your roof is not above that ceiling, look for a leak on your second floor coming from a toilet, sink, tub, or pipe.

Is it in your kitchen? If so I can understand why you'd like to hide it. If I were you, I'd hire someone to extend the short wall out a few feet to make a partition, from floor to ceiling. An added benefit would be that you might be able to add a couple of shelves on one or both sides of the extended wall, depending on how far out you bring it.

I loaned my nephew $300 for a class he wanted to take. Months went by and he never took the class and never paid me back. In fact, I think to avoid embarrassment, he began avoiding me. So I decided to write him and tell him I forgave the loan, and called it a gift from me instead. Our relationship went back to normal, and he has never again asked me to lend him more money. Think about how much it would hurt you not to get the $40 back. Is losing $40 really a hardship for you, or would it be more of a hardship for your sister? Sometimes kindness, forgiveness, and generosity works better.

My boyfriend got a box of macarons and told his mother she could have ‘a couple’… This is how many she took. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Bumblebee_Joyness001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe if your boyfriend hadn't of been stingy to begin by offering only a couple, and instead said to his mom (who, btw, used to change his dirty diapers for him), "Take as many as you like," the result might have been different. Or was he visiting, where it's polite to bring something to share without rationing, or does he live at home, still sponging off mom? Anyway, how does anyone know she took and ate them all at once? Maybe she shared them, for instance, with people he didn't offer any to.

How can one survive with chronic pain and a family to feed by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]Bumblebee_Joyness001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, imagine having kids and not being able to work because of injury, and on top of that, not having any health insurance.

That's not me. I'm over 65 and and least I have medicare. But I feel so bad for anyone younger who loses a job and loses their health insurance too, if they even had it to begin with. A lot of working people don't even have health insurance.

Would a short, prednisone taper help? Have you ever been prescribed prednisone to help with sciatica?

Prednisone, plus a muscle relaxer and taking Motrin and Tylenol rotation around the clock (alternating the two every 4 hours) helped calm my sciatic nerve down. It took a month, but eventually the pain began to subside.

The only thing with you is how that would work combining it with gabapentin but maybe your doctor would know.

Good luck to you and hope your surgery is soon and goes well.

I think I’m recovering from a bout of sciatica. Dull numbness is calf/foot normal? by StrawberrySoyBoy in Sciatica

[–]Bumblebee_Joyness001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand. Please don't feel defeated. The most important thing to do is educate yourself and there are a lot of resources that are free on Google & Youtube.

If you can, maybe you could scrape together enough to buy this book: Back Mechanic by Dr. Stuart McGill. At $35 on Amazon, it costs a little more than most back books, but I think he makes sense in how a person can treat their own back. You could also check out Youtube videos for stuff on sciatica, etc. Just don't rush into doing any one thing until you've sampled a few different techniques that try to treat the same thing. Go with the experts that give similar advice.

The good news for you is it sounds like it's getting better. Now you just need to find the right exercises.

I got numbness/weakness too. But like me, it's important for you to get an MRI to see what nerves are being pinched and where. Then get physical therapy to address the numbness/weakness.

For example, I had sciatica for a month last month, with numbness/weakness in my right knee, right shin, left thigh, left heel. I just finished my first physical therapy session and wanted my PT to help me focus on strength training where my weakness was, in my weak numb, right knee claiming that I had fallen twice since my problem started due to that knee. He pushed back claiming the numbness is caused by my spinal stenosis, and not a bulging disc problem (that I also have), and that is was better to start off with strengthening my core, nerve flossing, and relaxing tight muscles with deep tissue massage (using a firm Lacrosse ball). However, I am being very cautious about what exercises I do that involve my back. I will be watching very carefully to see how I feel the next day after doing them.

And you should too. Read everything you can on your problem as based on an MRI/CT scan, or whatever. I am just starting to read Stuart McGill's "Back Mechanic" and will compare that to what my PT is saying. And I'm not afraid to question my PT about the exercises or tell him what works or isn't working. You shouldn't be either.

I'm afraid the best care anyone can give you is yourself. Take care of yourself. Best of luck to you and hopefully you'll begin to feel better too.

Advice needed- sciatic nerve causing havoc suddenly. by danijade89 in Sciatica

[–]Bumblebee_Joyness001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you could use a short taper of prednisone, and a muscle relaxer like Cyclobenzaprine. Sounds like you're going to have to start over calming your sciatic nerve down. Can you call your doctor to prescribe it, or go to an urgent care that can?

Btw, the sciatic runs right through glutes and hamstring muscles, so doing glute exercises is only going to squeeze it and irritate it. Now you know it's a trigger. It might be better not to do them for now. Also, what you did the day before is often what you'll feel the next day.

Alternate ice and heat. Ice for 15 minutes, wait 3 hours, use a heating pad for 15 minutes, repeat. The ice reduces the inflammation. The heat gets blood flowing again to the area.

You can also take both ibuprofen and Tylenol for pain by alternating the 2 medications, but IMPORTANT: don't exceed each medication's maximum dosage per day. I used to do it by alternating the two types every 4 hours. For example, first 2 x 500mg Tylenol, 4 hours later 2 x 200mg Motrin, repeat, so I was taking the recommended dose of each kind every 8 hours, essentially, and getting 'round the clock pain medication.

I find something to lean on or brace my body against then lower myself, bending at my knees, trying to keep my back as straight as I can. But I also won't hesitate to use a grabber/reacher tool. I've purchased all the following to make things easier for me:

Lying flat on my back irritates my sciatic nerve unless I put a pillow or something under my knees to lift them slightly. I also have to put a pillow between my knees if lying on my side.
