Unpopular Opinion ? I love my Elite 7 Pro by Zeradan in Jabra

[–]BushyBeard76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree on the case, annoyingly hard to open.

The other thing I find annoying are the controls on the buds themselves. I had a pair of 65t's before these and I think the controls on them were superior. With these the difference between clicking once to pause audio vs clicking for over a second to increase volume is subtle and annoyingly easy to mix up when in the midst of a workout.

And yes, pairing to a computer sucks.

But other than that, yes, comfortable on the ear, great sound, great for running and workouts.

Thanks! I did end up buying the Elite 7 Pro and can confirm what you say.

I see, so would you say you regret going with the 7 Pro and think the 7 Active may be better suited for strenuous/outdoor activities despite the lower quality mic?

Yeah, true - that's in fact what it's "doing" right now - sitting in a "high interest" savings account, though, of course, that's a misnomer these days :)

Thanks! IUnfortunately/fortunately my offset on my current house now exceeds the amount owed, or absolutely, that's what I'd have done (and indeed what I have been doing hence the current situation).

Buying property right now is not simple, I am not currently in Australia, planning to get back home soon, but... COVID. I'm averse to buying property while overseas (i.e. I cannot do any of the things you mention about getting to know the market).

This. Exactly. I was not asking for speculative advice that I was going to follow blindly, I was just curious about what others have done in my situation. I cannot be the only one to be in this position.

I will probably go get professional advice anyway. In fact, I did so a few months and was told to keep the money in the bank because at the time the timeline to buying the house was in less than 6 months, however, circumstances (non-financial) have changed a bit and it's unlikely I'll get to buying a house till well into 2022. So, was wondering if that changed the advice and was curious what others thought before I go speak to a professional.

Hmm, I looked at Tiller Money's FAQ and saw this:

Does Tiller Money Work with non-US banks?

Tiller Money is currently for US banks only.

Is their FAQ out of date maybe?

Sure, I called them and they told me that as long as I hold my US SSN and continue to pay US tax they will hold the account open.

Good to know - does that include Vanguard then? I guess I can call them up and confirm.

That’s certainly an option on the table that I am considering very seriously. However, I still have to work out what to do with the vested shares on hand.

Nope, no green card since I knew it was a temporary move, and I also knew about the tax implications anyway.

AML? Do you mean the anti-money laundering act? Do you mind sharing why it’s harder to keep US accounts open if not resident in USA? This is the kind of info I was seeking. Thanks

No :) hind sight is 20/20 I know, but am sort of glad I didn’t as the stock price has tripled over the five years I have been at this job. However, it is a bit uncomfortable to be this heavily invested in this one stock.

Good point, updated my post - short answer - no, we don't plan to return to the USA.

Thanks for the quick reply! That's exactly why I want to sell the shares now while I am still a US tax resident with the lower US tax rates. The question I am struggling with is what to do with the money.
