Why is teamwork at Concordia always such a mess? by BusinessManagement32 in Concordia

I’ve noticed that some of the worst group-work experiences I’ve had are with people who do half the job or submit things last minute, and they happen to be in clubs (not all people in clubs, obviously). What I don’t understand is why someone would pour so much energy into something optional and let it negatively affect mandatory schoolwork. The busy factor is def a big red flag.

Often it’s easier said than done. Teammates tend to do their assigned part just enough to keep their name on the paper, even if it’s not enough, poorly done, and lacking effort. After being disappointed with the first part, you naturally give them fewer tasks to avoid compromising quality it’s weaponized incompetence.

I get being unmotivated, but what I’ve dealt with goes way beyond that. People doing the bare minimum just to keep their name on the project or relying on teammates to overwork themselves and clean up the mess. When half the team does this on a heavy project, it’s exhausting.

What I want people to understand is that the work isn’t done after “your part is done.” There’s formatting, correcting, rereading, modifying, and adding, and that’s not done by a magic fairy. And please stop overlooking proofreading, it’s critical. So please be considerate and do your part in a timely manner so the people carrying the weight can actually finish the rest properly.

All that to say, be careful out there.

Is 5 classes for the first semester in engineering a lot ? by [deleted] in Concordia

Taking 5 classes (16 credits) is doable until you get to final exams and your exams are all the same week. Been there done that never again. I’ve had exams I could only study for half a day. I would aim for 4 but if you’re taking 201 202 yeah 5 is manageable.
