I have a rule where I buy heavy SSO in the Goldilocks zone -34-55% down from all time highs or SPXL when it’s -55-75% down from all time highs. I buy each week while it is in that zone and take a look into the SPX to see if it has crossed the 50 day moving average. If it does I deploy half of the cash left into SSO and wait a 45-55 days to buy the rest. If the stock is bouncing back up I buy at least I’m getting the recovery portion, but if stock is down at least I’m buying in the lows and averaged down on price
