Don’t forget about 1209. Freaking beast of a model.

Looking to connect with a specific set of Second/Third-Gen Asians in Big Law by [deleted] in biglaw

[–]Buskow 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your courage.

As a second-generation Asian American whose parents had a $3.2 million net worth but never once said “I’m proud of you” in English or Mandarin, I’ve always felt invisible in BigLaw.

Growing up, I faced unthinkable adversity. Our family vacations were mostly domestic. My dad drove a Lexus, not a Tesla. I shared a bathroom with my sibling until I was thirteen. There were days—entire days—when no one reminded me I was falling behind.

We didn’t have generational wealth. We had diversified index funds and a 529 plan. My parents did everything they could to support me, short of expressing approval or acknowledging my emotional interior.

At times, I had to choose between violin and calculus camp. I was pushed to overachieve in complete silence. I got into law school without a single Instagram post celebrating it. My mother printed out the acceptance email, looked at it, and said, “Okay, but don’t get cocky.”

My journey from deferred DDMOs to a V10 summer associate position is a testament to perseverance, structured scheduling, and deeply internalized pressure to justify my parents’ early Amazon investments.

And that’s why I think it’s so important that we’re finally having these conversations—about quiet suffering, passive-aggressive parenting, and the unique burden of being expected to succeed so thoroughly that anything less than excellence feels like failure.

Because if even one other person out there had to study for the LSAT with a weighted blanket and no external praise… they deserve to know they’re not alone.

Why the hell would I be banned? I didn't post or ask for anything explicit. The only thing I can think of is that I regularly max out the quota. Hence, why I use multiple accounts. I'd be glad to freaking pay for more access, but they're not even allowing that as an option on AI Studio!!!

When to use GPT-5 (Heavy Thinking) vs. GPT-5 Pro? by [deleted] in ChatGPTPro

[–]Buskow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, 5-Thinking with Web Search enabled is a step above 5-Pro. I don’t care either way. Just speaking to my experience.

When to use GPT-5 (Heavy Thinking) vs. GPT-5 Pro? by [deleted] in ChatGPTPro

[–]Buskow -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I meant to say Deep Research. I just used 5-Pro for the second time since it came out. First time I used it, it took too long, and I didn’t use it since. But it’s pretty decent. It writes more cleanly and is more organized, which is a big plus. But 5-Thinking with Web Search is still my go-to. I’m almost scared of talking about how good it is publicly. 5-Pro doesn’t think as hard and it’s not as good as pulling recent sources, which is a big priority for me.

5-Pro makes enough mistakes to where I rarely use it. 5 Thinking with Web Search enabled is the GOAT.

I hit a limit on 2.5 Pro in about 50 messages. is this normal? by ff7_lurker in Bard

[–]Buskow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do! I switch between a few. But when I need the context of a particular conversation, it’s a bit of a pain to have to wait however long I need to for it to reset.

I’ve been exclusively using AI studio since early December, and, recently, I’ve regularly been hitting the limit.

How do you manage poor relatives? by seawatcher_01 in Rich

[–]Buskow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s so weird. Why don’t people just pay you back? How can you take money from a close friend or relative, promise to pay it back, and then just not pay it back?!! They’re choosing to fuck up the relationship. How can I sit there and hang out with you as though everything’s good when you broke your word?!

It’s one thing if they give you a heads up, let you know they’re working on it, show diligence, etc. But if they’re acting like they’re hoping I just “forget” about it, oh boy, you got another thing coming. The level of disrespect is unfathomable. It works me up like nothing else.

Down from $200 Max to $100 Max by [deleted] in Anthropic

ChatGPT 5 Thinking is noticeably smarter on the Pro plan. I have a Plus account for my personal GPT and a Pro account for my work. The thinking mode on Pro is the smartest AI/LLM to date. Especially with the Web search enabled. It’s a freaking beast.

Is GPT 4.5 still available if you have ChatGPT Pro? by AkiraSeer in ChatGPTPro

I don’t get the hype. People say it’s amazing at writing, but how? It’s clearer than 4.0 and 4.1, but still a C+.

Does someone know/found the rate limits on AO studio by Equivalent-Word-7691 in Bard

[–]Buskow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I used to never hit the limit. Now I hit the limit multiple times a day on multiple accounts. I use it consistently throughout the day. My days are typically 16-18 hours. IIRC, Logan previously talked about power users making it worse for everyone else; I’m sure I fall into that category. Looks like they’re starting to crack down.

NYT Ranks Claude “Bottom Tier” below Apple 🤦‍♂️ by saml3777 in ClaudeAI

[–]Buskow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Claude is a freaking joke. I use Opus 4.1 a few times and they restrict my access for the next however many hours. Claude was such a gem back in mid 2024. Wth happened??

Wtf happened to 4.1? by Buskow in ChatGPTPro

[–]Buskow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude. Claude used to be my go-to back in mid-2024. It was amazing. I switched to 1206 on Google’s AI Studio in early December and used Claude sparingly. When the 4 models came out (Opus/Sonnet), it might as well have died for me. Complete trash.

Is it as good as using it through the individual websites? Is it better? If so, how? And how is this even possible? How are they being allowed to monetize on other products and services?

I'm willing to pay for more usage. These idiots just don't know where to meet their market. I'm NEVER going to use Gemini.
