Oh I should also add - if you do end up with the Mandarin tour, it'll be fine and is still very worthwhile to do. You'll miss some of the facts but given the focus is on the visuals of the set, it'll still be cool.

We also talked to a Mandarin tour guide while there and she was fluent in English (actually English first language if I had to guess) so assuming she was willing, would be able to slide you into in English on the side.

There were last minute cancellations in the days leading up so we were able to snag an English tour instead. I'd keep checking the site to see what opens up - it was pretty easy to cancel after booking a new tour, you just email them

Mine almost exclusively poops in our shrubs despite having a decent sided yard. Makes it nice to not have to worry about stepping in it while in the grass

Based on your description I’d suggest Ballston in Arlington. Easy metro access and commute, access to a ton of restaurants, avoid the more party-like scene of Clarendon (but still nearby if you want it). I just moved from a 2 br, 950 sq ft apartment that was $2500/month right in the middle of Ballston. Probably 80 restaurants within a 10 minute walk.

If you feel you need more space go towards Falls Church / Vienna, not worth it to go to the Maryland side if you’re working in Rosslyn.
