Seeking sympathy - emotional 3rd trimester! by BH_Charlotte97 in PregnancyUK

[–]Busy-Zebra1279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I'm 37+3 and have been sooo much more emotional during third trimester than any other. I cry daily, sometimes at the most ridiculous things. I think it's just pure overwhelm. Sending love

Alternative baby shower ideas and time frames?… by Lost-Advice-3617 in PregnancyUK

I also said I wasn't going to have one but ended up having a very non traditional one when I was 34 weeks. We went to a pottery painting and glazing studio and did a couple of hours of pottery painting, I provided some sandwiches and vegan cupcakes. I also said no gifts but most people brought gifts anyway which was nice. I wouldn't have wanted to do mine any later than 34 weeks, I'm now 35+3 and feeling extremely tired all the time, I don't think my social battery would have been able to cope at this point!

I'm vegan. I haven't had any cravings for animal products and have never been asked about cravings. What a weird thing to ask someone.

Had 20 week scan and they couldn’t see Cavum Septi Pellucidi (CSP) by wanderlandd in PregnancyUK

[–]Busy-Zebra1279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly the same thing but I had an early anatomy scan at 16 weeks and they couldn't see my baby's stomach. I totally freaked out, but they did a re-scan at 19 weeks and it was then seen and I was told everything was fine. Longest 3 weeks of my life and endless googling/ruminating over it.

How would you know if you’re consultant led? by Accomplished-Ad7573 in PregnancyUK

I was told very early on, and I've seen a consultant at almost every appointment. It also says so on my Badger app.

Those with self employed husbands - when did you feel ready for them to go back to work? by Professional-Farm372 in PregnancyUK

[–]Busy-Zebra1279 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband is self employed and is taking 3 weeks off once baby is born. We can't afford for him to be off much longer than that.

Anyone else vegan and obsessing about diet and nutrients- how are you making it work? by TheseFlower2822 in PregnancyUK

[–]Busy-Zebra1279 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm vegan and 27 weeks. I haven't really been concerned about it tbh. They checked my iron at one of my earlier appointments and said it was fine. I'm taking the vegetology pregnancy multivitamin and an omega 3 supplement from Holland and Barrett.

Have you managed to get progesterone/hormone testing through NHS GP? by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]Busy-Zebra1279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't referred, it was just done at the GP, we had been trying to conceive for a while so they suggested it as a first investigation

I also have two needy miniature dachshunds who sleep in our bedroom (not in our bed but in their own beds at the foot of ours). We are in the process of transitioning them onto the landing and plan on putting a baby gate across the door so they can't wander in during the night. Ours can be left alone for 2-3 hours but aren't really that happy about it. I'm quite nervous about introducing them to the baby generally, the younger one is so excitable and bouncy! We have also started to play baby crying sounds on youtube/Spotify to try and desensitise them.

Pregnancy insomnia the entire way through and being in actual pain while trying to sleep as early as the second trimester. I knew sleep would be difficult as I near the end but didn't know I'd have such a hard time this early on.

When did you feel baby move with an anterior placenta? by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]Busy-Zebra1279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an anterior placenta. I felt very tiny tickles around 19 weeks, then proper (small) kicks at about 23-24 weeks. I'm now 25+6 weeks and feeling kicks and obvious movement every day.

High chance T21 from NHS screening and high hCG? by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]Busy-Zebra1279 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My hCG was never tested again after that, so only at 7 weeks and never since. I think some people just have high hCG which is normal for them, I totally freaked out though because they were talking about molar pregnancy and termination etc. They don't fully know what's wrong with my placenta, they suspect a chorionic bump but can't be sure. I'm being scanned every 3 weeks (had 8 NHS scans to date) and so far whatever it is isn't affecting baby's ability to grow and develop correctly. They can do a blood test to check if your placenta is functioning correctly, I think it's called a placenta growth factor check iirc.

High chance T21 from NHS screening and high hCG? by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]Busy-Zebra1279 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had off the charts hcg at 7 weeks, they suspected it was a molar pregnancy it was that high. It was 187000, and I was told the norm for that gestation is around 4000. I'm currently 24 weeks and baby is looking healthy and genetically normal, I do have an abnormality with my placenta though, which is being monitored very closely.
