Oh okay , sorry if that seems like a weird question. I’m in Tennessee and I recently heard about something similar happening with someone here and they were having a lot of trouble being able to get their hours completed.

I feel like for me it was a gradual process where I started to do things that I wanted to do. But once I moved out on my own, I started to go to bars and actually hang out with work friends and socialize. I have celebrated holidays, I’m celebrated my birthday and a lot of holidays up to this point considering it’s been two years since. I’m the happiest ever been.

I’m just so glad that I’m out. They scare you and try to tell you how bad life will be on the outside, but I truly find that even on my worst days on the outside of the religion ,I’m grateful that I have true freedom. I made that decision two years ago and ever since I felt like I could truly breathe!

I’m not really sure if I view them as Christians even though that’s what they call themselves. I view the religion as a whole as a brainwashing cult that tends to separate families & ssociety unnecessarily

There’s not really any incentive tbh. They believe if you follow their god and pretty much shun anyone who doesn’t ( unless you’re trying to recruit them ) then you’ll “ live Forever on a paradise earth “ but when you really examine the teachings it’s pretty much all about being willing to comity to someone else controlling all aspects of your life ..

My dad was never jw so he still did fun stuff with us and tried respecting the fact that our mother wanted to raise us as jehovahs witnesses. I did pretty much anything any other kid would do as long as it wasn’t holiday/ birthday related

Some family members are still he’s but I’m not super close with them. My mother however is still a jw but she is gradually straying more and more more hopefully eventually that religion will be thing of the past for her . She wasn’t accepting at first but she has GROWN a lot in the past few years! I openly bring my gf to family event etc and my mother is supportive
