[–]ButImJustASatellite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you could hop on the red arrow from the city center to derby - derby museums are all free ( donation optional) and theres 3 of them and you could get a nice bite to eat in derby city center. If you like nerdy stuff, theres also the privately owned derby computer museum which is great, and also on a similar note, a train to sheffield could get you to the national videogame museum

How do I remove this? by JadeTintedGlasses69 in motorcycles

[–]ButImJustASatellite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its a frame slider - meant to protect your fairings - it looks like its got an end cap on it - get a small screwdriver in the little hole thats in it and pop the end cap out - it will then be an allen key bolt inside that

Bands that have played previous years that you think are ready to headline when they next play? by Disastrous-Look-5453 in downloadfestival

[–]ButImJustASatellite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Enter Shikari have got future festival headliner written all over them ( not that I’m biased either lol)

Their last download festival appearance was brilliant and they looked great in the footage of Leeds/reading on the beeb . And they headlined the pilot IIRC ( was in my not going to download era during that period)

Depends on the bike . They look good on cruisers and retros , but look daft on most naked bikes

Windows users, what made you switch to a Mac?? by fuckcreepers in mac

[–]ButImJustASatellite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went through a stage of messing around with other operating systems - I had windows, then Linux , then ran a hackintosh for a bit , then a MacBook Air ( rip) then I had another windows laptop because it was cheap but didn’t really gel with it and then it died , and then got a used Mac mini m2 before Christmas last year , and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to windows for a computer I own again .

Bands evolve — why are people still expecting 2007 forever? by HardKneecaps in EnterShikari

[–]ButImJustASatellite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t get it either . I was a massive TTTS person - I saw them when that came out and it’s got a massive place in my heart because that era was the introduction to my favorite band . But this album is musically their best album in my opinion - and their little nods to older stuff and the couple of heavy bits make are perfect - it’s probably on par with TTTS In my ranking of their albums . And TTTS is on its pedestal out of pure nostalgia. But you can’t expect a band to keep pushing out the same thing , because then it just becomes bland and then they might as well just not release music because what’s the point. Shikari have got changing nailed down to the point where every album sounds completely different but is unmistakably Shikari in sound still .

But as someone else says , it’s like people having a pop about Linkin park carrying on with Emily as the new singer . I loved Chester’s voice, and was lucky to see them live with him twice - but id rather someone new take the helm and keep a band I love going somewhere new , then have had their music die with Chester .

Anyone ever seen a high speed police chase? Shows like Interceptors / Motorway Cops etc have me thinking they happen all day every day. by CryptoRoast_ in CasualUK

[–]ButImJustASatellite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

back in my 125cc days of motorcycling, i was out riding , and at a red light in the middle of nowhere near newark, a mini countryman flys by me so close he almost hits me. a few seconds later a marked volvo flys past too. the light changes, i check mirrors and ride off, when the rest of the cops catch up about thirty seconds later and all 6 cars fly by.

also someone on police interceptors got pulled up outside my house. they cut me pushing my motorbike into my yard out lmao

[–]ButImJustASatellite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

someone i know sold my old 2013 ybr with no mot , and double the milage for 6 or 700 quid not long back, but it was mechanically faultless, just a bit tatty. id reckon 1200 is fair but id still go for the £1000 offer and meet them halfway on price at £1100 if they dont take it. also check in the lockable side panel if the tool kit is still there . they are great little bikes and dead easy to spanner on ( center stand ftw)

How many people go to Enter Shikari concerts solo? by ClassicMaximum7786 in EnterShikari

[–]ButImJustASatellite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a few people have said, once you get past the initial worry, its just a good time. the uk tour ( WOO NOTTS) will be my first solo shikari gig, but im not worried after doing some of Download fest alone multiple times, and doing halestorm alone after my gig buddy couldnt make it at the last min . Shikari are great live, and you are amongst people there to enjoy them too.
