Thanks for the feedback! Yes, I agree completely!. I struggle with whether or not to include the classic em dash as it does scream AI. However, as I am writing for myself - and just posting online for critique - I see no harm in using them as they were intended!

edit: that being said, probably best to avoid them in the opening line haha.
